Hey all,

Normally a 40k player but a lot of people have but interest into start up a fantasy league. One of our regulars is going to run a beginners tourny, since we are all learning 8th edition rules. Most people are going skaven, dark elves, and high elves. I am wanting to be different so was thinking tomb kings or ogre kingdoms. Any good 1k list for new rules?

Ogre are pretty solid come check out the Ogre Stronghold for lots of Ogre info, real active community there. As for TK I would say hold off both should be getting a new army book sometime next year but TK are slated to be first and currently they are hurting with the nerfs to fear and chariots. However rumors are when TK gets their new book they will be really competitive.

Thus, After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community. It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd
-Alexis de Tocqueville.
