I guess I could save the gaunts down to 10 and save me 80 points to invest in the stealers (possibly by reducing the original brood and creating a 2nd brood altogether or bolstering the original with extras, even a BL)

Other option is to remove a Trygon and just use that for a 2nd 15 man brood of stealers.

Comments & Critique is welcome.

I wouldn't drop a Trygon they need to be used in pairs with a 3rd DS MC in support (in your case the Tyrant).

Stealers without toxin scas are fail. Get them sacs or dump them.

What I don't like about your list though is that it is 2 distinct armies. The Trygons, Tyrant, Zoes and Stealers are building towards a ninja list that jumps in the opponents face. Whilst the Tervigons, Hive Guard and Gants provide a nice long range target for target practice while the enemy awaits your main assault. In general I don't like Nid builds that arrive in waves. it makes you too easy to deal with. Whilst all the elements (Stealers asside) are good and well built the whole is just too unfocused for my liking.

Thanks for the reply.

Giving toxin sacs to the stealers would reduce them down to 10, still a decent size, and could give my HT a spore to DS with.

It was designed to have 2 sides, one that ninjas in and throws the army into confusion whilst the numbers side of the army (gaunts and tervis with HG) charge into the enemy. Either the opponent has to face the internal threats and ignore the tide of gaunts or faces the main faction while it gets slammed from the heavy hitters inside their own ranks.

That was the plan anyhow, i dont know how effective it would be. As you say, there is an element of 'delay' between to two sides, so I'm running a risk of my army being isolated and wiped out in two seperate battles.

What is your advice in dealing with this?

HT can't take a spore but can DS anyway thanks to the wings.

As you say there is a delay at best your main hitting force will be there on turn 2. If you go first, he still has 2000 shooting at your Swarm for a turn. If you go 2nd then that swarm side will be mostly dealt with whilst your main force arrives to a largely un harmed 2000 points of guns and unable to do much damage to it until the following turn when you can assault. Should the reserve rolls go wrong for you it could be even worse.

Personally I'd commit more to one idea or the other. Go all ninja with outflankers and DS units. Or commit to the swarm advancing en masse.

I run a very similar list, but with only one set of tervigon/minimal 10 gants and 2-3 units of 8-10 stealers. Deployment depends on the mission/army I'm facing. Generally everything starts on the board except for zoeys and stealers (though depending on the opposing army, I'll infiltrate the stealers if I go first as opposed to outflanking with them.) I use the tervigon, his gant buddies, and a unit of hive guard to hold a home objective unless it's annihilation then I'll outflank the Tervigon along with the stealers.

Do you find you have the problems as mentioned by FlingitNow?

About a potentially divided force? Sounds like you keep the tervigon with HG in defensive positions (i.e cover) near objectives on your side of the table, and just weather the enemy fire until they have overextended themselves. Once they come charging down, pop the outflanking and DSing support in the thick of it to disrupt the flow of their attacks...or something.

If its a gunline army I supose you could risk putting in in reserves and outflanking. I'm alittle uneasy about not having anything on the table to start with - ive seen the photos of IG units spread 2" apart across an entire side of the board to deny entry haha.

Maybe just outline how you actually use your units? And yes I was thinking of stripping away the gaunt units down to the 10 to buff up some stealers (or get a 2nd squad). Other option would be to get some Spore Mines to flood one side of the board and place the squeeze on deployment options for the enemy.
