Hey all - wanting to start the new blood angels (i have the book just wondered what to get).. been proxying my space wolves and using this:

Libby - 100pts
Powers: Shield + Lance
5 Assault Marines (Flamer + PF + Razor + AssCan) - 185pts
5 Assault Marines (Flamer + PF + Razor + AssCan) - 185pts
Baal Predator (AssCan + Bolters) - 145pts
Predator (Auto/Las) - 135pts

is there anything better at 750 or any critisms etc (im from quite a competative community so LR's leman russ and wagons seem to show up at 750)

If you're from a competitive community and you know you're likely to be facing heavy mech why no melta?

no points for the melta - so i tried to jam in as much long range anti tank as possible.. i mean i would love to go melt that wagon, and then get charged by the mega nobz and boss inside and lose that unit

The most sucess I've had with BA at 750 points is when I take as many assult sqauds and preists as I can fit, and deep strike the entire army.

i dont like deep striking - too much risk involved most of the time.. that and you get off less shots - but what do people think about my list? what needs to change or is it good or what?

Your only lange ranged AT comes from the Pred, everything else is just 24"...

24" is still out of charge range of most stuff in the game, and being able to move 12" and fire at 24" means effectively i have a 36" range which isnt bad - 3 assault cannons which are twin-linked, plus lascannons and an auto cannon... oh and lance - whats the need for melta when stuff dies T1/2 ?

also if i charge stuff i would need more men, and a preist which means i lose out on lots of ranged anti tank so i can just die to mega nobz or get splatted by a defiler (which has happened, sadly)

I can only say that an IG Mech army would more than likely table you if played right. Mech IG have the range/firepower to take out your Razorbacks from range, leaving you stranded. From there it is a simple game of clean up. Just a question, what would you do if on turn two, both your razorbacks were destroyed? Generally speaking you are probably still a good 24-36" from the enemy...
