Yesterday at Games Day UK I picked up a Deathwatch Upgrade Kit and one of the new Character Upgrade Kits from Forge World. After an hour or so this is what I had come up with.

Soon I'll have a full squad of 10 with a Flamer and Rockets, maybe a Heavy Bolter.

When you order the Deathwatch stuff from GW you get 10 shouderpads and 10 guns, but you get 5 sprues each with a helmet and a bare head which is a total of 10 heads, but of course only 5 are helmets. When I bought the original offer when it came out some years ago I had 5 marines which came with 5 such sprues so could have 5 Marines all with helmets, but now of course you get given 10 marines and the same 5 spruse, so 5 helmets and 5 bare heads. The Deathwatch bare head is nice, but I wouldn't want 5 all the same in the same unit, I'd want 9 or 10 helmets which means GW need to put a few more in the box.

Looking really good for 4 hours work!

I'm a little confused by the gold bionics. It's not really the colour I think of when I think of 40k mechanical limbs. Dunno though. I'll have to see the whole squad.

@Xca|iber: I did think about silver bionics but I thought they would look too similar to the Deathwatch's "compulsory silver left arm", so I went for a brazen look.

Awsome work, I'm going to have to look into getting some of these for myself.

Seeing as these guys are adept at hunting Xenos, I thought it would be fitting for one of them to have some sort of strange device, it could be a gene splicer, analyzer or even just a Teleport Homer. You can see what I came up with below:



2 more left to build, one with Rockets and one with an Auspex and one of those cool FW Bolt Pistols.
