Specifically what are the lengths of the epic chimeras and bassies, I was thinking of using them as Heavy Weapons teams in a ad mech list (basically remote operated vehicles.) but I don't want the lascannons I'm going to put on them to COMPLETELY dwarf them. Basically if they're an inch and a half long they're good enough.

that's a very grey area then, if they're an inch as to how they would look with lascannons on top of them... maybe land raiders... but then for the price I might as well bite the bullet and get FW cyclopses.

Have you looked at making your own gun carriages out of your bit box, or converted from other military lines?
I've seen some nice ones here.

Goliath is a remote-controlled mine from FW for 40k scale.
Based off a German WW2 remote demolitions device.
It's about the size of an epic land raider.
