This log will chart the progress of my first and possibly only foray into 15mm historicals: Alexandrian Successor Macedonians.
How did I get into these little dudes? , you may ask. Well, This last weekend, I sat down at the BBDBA game at Hurricon in orlando, and was put in command of a center line unit of pikemen and thier auxilla support.
Shortly thereafter, I played in the DBA tourney using a loaner army of romans. I found that the game, while having generalized statistics for units, was fun and encouraged tactical thinking. It could also be played on a relativly small table. which meant ease of play in any local gathering place.
Encouraged by those who tought me about the game (FADBAG - Florida association of
De Bellus Antiquitatus gamers) and a very inspiring 2nd round opponent (thanks Joe, meant alot) I picked up a pack of Macedonian Alexandrian Phalangites. Joe was kind enough to give me a roman commander from one of his purchases, and when i file down his shield and paint him up like the rest he should fit in perfectly.

And so, back from a very successfull convention ( if you want more info about the tournaments and the convention as a whole, please contact me in a pm to avoid off topic posts here) I have started by seperating my Phalangites into groups of 4 (which i belive is the right number to base ratio)
I look foward to diving head first into painting these bad boys, and I am holding off until I get a sizeable chunk of my remaining 28mm stuff painted and varnished so I can use these as a reward to myself.
In the meantime, I am looking for a supplier of the game's rulebook, as well as a supplier of the right size bases, not to mention the correct sizes of those bases. Any help will be appreciated because as I said before, this is my first time with 15mm historicals.
Thanks for reading and see you next update,
LM.
