Hey,
I was wondering what was the best way to make a DoA BA army?
are DC good? what about Vanguard? I use tons of Sang priests at the moment.
can DC get DoA if they include that chaplain character that is a unit upgrade, I always wondered about that.

DC get DoA when they take jump packs. Any BA model with a jump pack gets DoA. It's just that only those units that come with packs by default show DoA in their entry.
My DoA list is a mix of assault squads, vanguard, sanguinary guard and honor guard.

i played a game with count as Sanguinary guard and hated them. they got killed off my power weapon honor guard so quickly, they did do well against my gf termies thou. Is there anyway to make them live longer, or am i using them wrong (I was using them to go after heavily powered units) I had a sang priest with them. My DC did very well. what is the best way to equip DC with jumppacks since they are so very expensive!

Well, I've been using s few Drop Pods w/ beacons and a DN or two to drop right on top of the opponent's line... Most people don't have the excess AT firepower to take out the DN(s) and both pods before turn 2... A few Assault Squads w/ Sang Priests attached, Vanguard Vets to assault right from the drop, hopefully close enough to pick up the SP's aura (or "fail" their pre-game roll)... Preds (Baal and normal) reserve or flank for support... It's a win or lose big army, not a lot of "draws" :-)

okay, what would be the best layout.
i want to make a DoA army that is mostly if not entirely troops, as in infantry models. could that be viable?

That seems to be what a pure DoA army turns out to be, lots of Assault Marines, Vanguard Vets, some Honor Guard and Priests flying about.
You have a couple choices with Vanguard. You can either go full out and tool em out with Storm Shields, Lightning Claws and all that. The drawback is that they become pretty expensive, but very killy.
Or keep em cheap. Give them Jump Packs, a Power Fist and maybe a Melta Bomb. Cheap, Effective and still killy.

Are DC worthwile to have with vanguard vets? and how would honor guard be tooled out.
I'm thinking some libbies with jump packs
a few squads of assault marines with meltaguns or inferno pistols
then an expensive unit or two:
being vanguard vets, honor guard, or DC. which is best? I like the idea that Vanguard Vets can assault turn they deepstrike.

Just my opinion of course, but I much prefer the Vanguard Vets... The ability to simply assault with loads of Power weapons, etc. is just too brutally effective to ignore...
Yes, I abbreviate "Dreadnought" as "DN", just the old Navy designation IIRC...
Death Company? I've used them a fair amount, but they seem to do better for me out of a LR or Storm Raven seems to keep them alive a bit longer... But the only way to get the "slightly overpowered" DC DN's... And with a Chaplain they clear things out quickly...
Librarians either as Jumpers or DN's are probably one of the better HQ choices...

dred libbies dont count as HQ.
I'll try out Vanguard vets. It seems best to have a PF, then PW? or are other gear any good?
I have one dred and want to convert it to a libbie dred, everything else I have are assault marines (and some tac squads and scouts) So I want to try out mainly assault marines.
I'll see how vanguard marines work out next game. anyone have an optimal layout?
ill also put a list up for any feedback

The Vanguard Squad I run is a full 10 man unit (so I can Combat Squad them), 1 Thunder hammer, 2 PF and the rest PW... Assuming I am running against Marines or the equivalent of course... Overkill against IG, but the (likely) Str 5/I 5 PW barrage hitting :-) But I'm guessing I play in a fairly "strange" area... Lots of AV 13 DN's, etc...

I'll try that out this friday at my gaming idea. and i fi get a game in with my gf sooner I'll try out a vanguard team. that seems like a smart move, thou i would have 1 PF 1TH or 2PF rather then 3 crazy weapons
