So I'm looking at building a couple of Flyrants and am considering what's available for wings. I'm no great sculpter so I don't want to make them from scratch.

These are the options from GW that I'm looking at:

Winged Nightmare Wings - I like the texture of the wing membrane and the segmenting of the "fingers" but have no real idea if they would work scalewise.

Dragon Wings - Plastic, cheap, but a little too dragony (if that makes sense).

Balrog Wings - Again plastic, cheap, and something that I see commonly used. Also a little too classic dragon.

Zombie Dragon Wings - Really like the look of these but again, not sure about the scale.

So any other options out there that people have found? Any insight on the scale of some of the above options? Votes for any of the above?

You can always modify the dragon wings to make it look more of tyranid wings, they are pretty similar. I've also seen bug wings been used for hive tyrants, i personally don't like it but each to their own i guess.

I used dragon wings, but replaced the claws/spurs with Warrior Scything Talons, was pretty happy with the result.

If I was doing the same again, I might try doing the same conversion with the newish balrog wings.

Those metal wings look fine too (if you don't mind metal), but as you say, the size may be wrong. There's also the Greater Deamon of Khorne wings?

The new high elf dragon wings are good too:

They are a "spread out" type of wing. I bought a set planning to convert the old 3rd edition hive tyrant in a flying-down/swooping type of pose. I think the arms need a bit of work (ribbing, to be more like tyranid arms), but overall, I think they are the bee's knees.

Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.
