As i am moved from one barracks to another I am out of any real Internet but my cell phone, so forgive me if I did not look this question up on search with a cellular connection. I know that 3rd party companies make organic themed model bases, but is there a good shortcut method for modeling your own for tyranids? I tried a dark grey fine ballast to look like a scoured world, with green stuff creeping halfway on the base of a gaunt, but I painted it and it looks like I painted on a piece of chewed bubblegum. Any suggestions on another way to make this work without havng to learn to be a sculptor? Or is buying and painting 3rd party bases my best option?

i would recommend getting a hot glue gun...end of problems... there is so much to achieve with that, or get those big thingies form the home depot with slilicone to glue and make your tube watersealed...
then again your on service? well there is limited supply i guess... why not take the chewed gum look to its extremes and use gum^^ or you could heat up (whatever way you find suitable) plastic bottles, heck even sprue come to my mind. heat it pull it and stick it up wherever you lik it...

Actually I'm not deployed anymore. Though internet is hard to come by in my in-transit state. Thanks for reminding me to change my location.

Thanks for the advise, guys.
