Hi,
What do you guys do with the upper-back hatch? Glue the two pieces? Or what can I do for them to open up and close without de-attaching.

There is a nice article on bolter& chainsword about making your rhino with functional hatches, if I ever break down and buy a new rhino I think I will try it.

search on the forums for making Rhino doors that actually open and close. or you can very carefully glue them together, and interchange them with the predator/razorback top hatch.

I just glue the 2 halves together and paint them up. I do NOT glue them to the Rhino, but simply place it over the opening. If I need a Razorback or Predator/Whirlwind I remove the hatch and set in the pre-painted barbette piece and weapon.
I also magnetize the side doors so they can be removed and Pred Sponsons added.
At $35+ a model get as much utility and cross-capability out of them as you can.

I used the BnC article to hinge all my doors and it really is pretty awesome. Lets you paint the inside to show it off and to use them on a display board. Naturally they cannot be made into Pred's then, but that is why I have 2x Exorcists converted from Whirlwinds

I also added a step where I magnetized the rear door.

(Simple to do replace the top of the back door with a thin strip of metal, - then mount a magnet in the recess by the door so it keeps the door shut)

I have built a rhino with functional hatches ( top and rear) and also built them without. Imo, the hatches can be a fun sub project, but in the end I would prefer to just seal up the interior of the rhino. The project would require you to have a hobby knife, small pin vise drill, and 24-28mm gauge wire.
