Mega armor gives a shoota and power claw, just like a boy or a nob has a slugga and choppa. Shouldn't mega nobs be counted as having an extra close combat weapon just like them? Its the same setup it seems.

Shootas are assault weapons. They only things that count for the extra attack are CCW (including power weapons, claws, slugga, chainsword, etc) and pistols. Shootas are neither of those, ergo you don't get an extra attack.

ok. cool, that part makes sense.

As you mentioned power weapons and Claws are CCW, would that then yield an extra attack since mega armor does feature a power fist/Claw?

Thanks for the help here.

You need 2 CCWs (or pistols) to get the extra attack. Having a single one gains no advantage. Assuming your Nob only has the single power claw and the shoota (which doesn't count for CCW), you only get his base attacks + charging bonus (if applicable).

In addition the only time you get an extra attack when one of the weapons is a Powerfist or similar (chainfist, lightning claw) is to havea nother of the samee weapon.

So one powerfist never yields another attack.

I think as long as your other weapon is a "generic" ccw or a pistol, you get the extra attack. It's only when both weapons are "special" that you can only count one (and only use 1's special abilities).

No, you don't.

Ah, my mistake. That's just a special rule for those 3, right? Other special close combat weapons do work with a 2nd non-special, correct?

... and it's just those three specials that are limited. A Power Weapon or other special which is not one of those three can gain the extra attack from a pistol or other normal CCW.
