Just thought I would let you guys know that the Bing Search engine is going to where you get Microsoft points while you search on Bing after you register for it.

Even if you don't want to use Bing, you can sign up for it and get 200 free M$ points, though they take "4-6 weeks" for shipping.

In your head, screwing with your thoughts...

Why are they so desperate to get people to use Bing? Sorry, I know nothing about Bing except that they did lots of tv ads. Isn't it just another search engine though?

Everywhere I'm not supposed to be.

I think Bing is desperatly trying to make a move on Google, but with Google breaking into the tablet and cell-phone market, I don't think it's going to work.

If you need me, I'll be busy wiping the layers of dust off my dice.

I don't think anyone can topple Google, unless the people who run it get caught up in some massive scandal. Google is a household name; hell, the ability to intelligently search for things is even called Google-Fu! Besides, a lot of us grew up on Google. Throughout my life, I've learned more through using google search than I have in any class. When I want to learn how to do something, I Google it.

All I know is Bing's search overload commercials were so incredibly annoying that it made me never want to use their service.

I was stuck with using bing while google wouldnt work.

Dont use it, for any reason.
In general its just a poor search function that has far too many paid adverts on it.
Once you search you need to skip 20 pages past thier advertising pages and other gak.

Google will live forever, bing should die in a fire at some point soon.

Actually, for the last couple of days I have been using it, No advertisments at all. Mind you, there are some annoying aspects of it (trying to just go into a Bing search pops out another window, among others) but overall, it's not a bad thing to use.

I still prefer Google, but hey, FREE POINTS!

And 200 MS points will buy you what now a days?

Rather go for the deal of the week on the 360.
1 years live - £24 with 800 free MS points.
2 years live - £40 with 1,600 free MS points.

I'm giving it a test too. You get 250 points for signing up and it took like 3 min to get another 50. I'll let you guys know if I actually get 300 ms points or if its a load of gak. There is apparently a cap of 3k ms points. They dont wanna give away too much nifty stuff it seems.

Just got the emails for the points. It actually worked. Granted it was a pain in the butt entering in 3 16 digit codes just for a few points but hey, it was free.

I use Bing Rewards just to earn the points. I still use google as my typical search engine though. You can earn a lot more than just MS points with Bing. I plan on turning all of mine into Amazon gift cards. I've been doing the same thing with SwagBucks and have made about $50 in Amazon gift cards already. Between these two I can purchase an extra video game a month for free.

Nice, I may just end up taking advantage of this now that it's tested and proven to work...
