Just to ask that the Worksafe theme not show avatars or signatures like the Mobile Friendly one does.

That has been left as a user option within your user profile as worksafe is also useful for people who prefer black on white. Obviously if you are using multiple computers (work and home) it will not be a suitable solution, but it is preferable in my opinion than forcing the changes upon everyone when many people may not want it that way.

How about 'white-theme' (as current worksafe) and 'worksafe' or 'mobile friendly, white' (sans avatars and signatures) as seperate themes?

Alternatively...

'Print friendly' sans avatars and signatures would also make a good worksafe and be even more printer friendly.

Unfortunately, each new theme adds significant development time for any time we change things in the future, and those sorts of little hacks make things significantly more complex in the codebase. The scale of demand means that it would probably be less time for the few users who need it to switch back and forth compared to the amount of time I would spend having to workaround it in the future.

Does that include the print friendly suggestion in my edited post? I wasn't expecting a reply so soon.

ah bugger that is annoyingly logical. I'll add it to the to-do list but as a fairly low priority.

Logical, indeed! So it looks like "print friendly" is to "mobile friendly" what worksafe is to classic?

Personally, I can't tell who is posting what without avatars, so I use classic on my netbook and worksafe at work . Definitely appreciate these new modes, though! If I can ever get the hang of using the web on my phone, I might make more use of them, too
