Hello, Ladies, Gentlemen, Ponies, Pixies, and Children of All Ages,

Now that I'm playing more and more, and therein, making a turbulent transition from being an easy-going 'Collector' to a critical, precise 'Gamer', I'm thinking less about the Aesthetic Appeal of any Project I consider undertaking, and more about the Gaming Potential of the Project.

Hence, at the risk of being branded 'Beardy', I was considering a Triple-Monolith List?

I'm a stranger to Necrons - in fact, I've only played them once - but I've heard good things about a single Monolith. So, it's - in a way - the same as the Triple-Vindicator. Why have one fantastic Unit... when you could have three?

So, my question is, what should I spend the remaining 795 Points on?

Bearing in mind that Cheeses and Beards are not a problem, since I already have 3 Monoliths. It can't get much Cheesier/Beardier than that.

Since when are Necrons cheesy? If I played them I would always use 3 Monoliths.

3 Monoliths is unarguably edging towards Ultimate Cheese, if you ask me.

Anyway, what else should I field? 20-30 Warriors, a Lord, and... what?

More warriors or Immortals. Anything that is a Necron.

Immortals, eh? Interesting... I might just do that...

The big weakness to a tri-lith is that it dramatically reduces the number of necrons making phase-out much easier.

Destroyers, warriors and immortals are all relatively decent.

The question is, how are you going to kill the enemy effectively whilst also protecting enough necrons to keep from phasing out?

ETA, dual-lith seems to be sweet spot and it means you can get some heavy destroyers in.

Dual-Lith does seem much better for the balance between thrashing the Enemy and avoiding Phase-Out.

What should I do with my HQ, then? Just a VoD Lord?

Yep, Dual Lith is generally the better option, although if you look for DashofPepper, he's having great success with the tri-lith...

HQ's generally a Res Orb or VoD Lord or The Deciever

Necrons need anything they can get.

I would take a player take 6 monoliths, if they wanted.

Not likely. That's 1500 points right there. His phase out would be like 10 guys.

How are you going to shoot them when you have 6 'liths forming a wall between them and you?
