Hi all,
I thought I'd post the all-comers list I've been trialling for the past month or so and see how you rate it.
1x Hive Tyrant
2x twin-linked Brainleech Devourers, Hive Commander, Leech Essence, Paroxysm
225pts
1x Zoanthrope
60pts
1x Zoanthrope
60pts
3x Lictor
195pts
4x Tyranid Warrior
Bonesword, Lash Whip, Scything Talons, Toxin Sacks
200pts
18x Termagant
Fleshborer
90pts
10x Genestealer
Toxin Sacks
170pts
On the whole I've found it to be pretty solid. I've got plenty of alternative deployment (Infiltrating/Outflanking Genestealers, Chameleonic Lictors, optional Outflank on the Tyranid Warrior depending on the mission/opponent) that has a fairly reliable +1 to their roll to come on, which so far I've had great success in using to keep my enemy off-balance.
I know I know, Lictors. I was determined to make them work with this list... and they've actually been quite impressive (I'm going to start documenting my games so I can demonstrate their small-game abilities to anyone who's interested). In smaller games like these, there isn't as much firepower floating around and the board isn't so saturated with models - thse factors combine to give Lictors the room and the hiding places they need to work effectively (usually).
Anti-armour may seem a bit light at first, but between the Lictors, Tyrant shooting, Zoanthropes and Genestealer charges I can usually crack open transports as necessary. In smaller games, Land Raiders are much rarer (I've only faced two so far, both Crusaders) and the Monolith is hard to crack regardless. I'm tempted to replace the Zoanthropes with Hive Guard, but I quite like having their anti-MEQ Warpblast on-hand as well. That said, I have found myself frustrated by hostile psychic defences more than once. Hive Guard at least are very reliable.
Any and all comments are welcome.
