Okay, first things first. Bear in my mind that I'm part of a small budding group of wargamers who fight each other on a weekly basis over a glass of wine etc. So, my opponents are IG, Deamons and occasionally Orks. Therefore, all the melta-spam that the meta-game insists on for battling MEQ armies doesn't apply to my force.

HQ1 - Captain - Jump Pack, Lightning Claw x2.
155pts

TR1 - Tactical Squad (10) - Flamer, Missile Launcher - Dedicated Transport: Rhino
220pts

TR2 - Assault Squad (5) - Infurnus Pistol x2
130pts

TR3 - Scout Squad (5) - Sniper Rifle x4, Heavy Bolter
85pts

FA1 - Land Speeder - Heavy Bolter, Typhoon Launcher
90ptS

FA2 - Land Speeder - Heavy Flamer, Multi-Melta
70pts

Total 1500.

Standard Tactical Notes: My Captain usually joins the assault squad, to lend them a hand in CC, Scout squad usually just infiltrates on a fairly safe objective and lends fire support to nearby units. Land Speeders to flex between big solo units (Leman, D.Prince) or support squads (IG command section, Deamon Flamers). Tac squad to engage opponents line (preferably on the flank!). Anything else to be decided on the fly.

Ideas for 1000pt extension? Chaplain and Death Company. In a razorback!

maybe you van have 2 vindicators on 1000 point, an for 1500 points death company can be funny!

don't think, you have to know it if you want to be a commander
2010-> IG losses:5, draws: 1, wins: a really lot of wins
2011 IG losses: 2, draws: 1 wins: 32
2012 losses: 8, draws: 0 wins: 15

I don't have my codex present for the point costs, but for 250 points you could perhaps fit in another Assault Marine squad (5) + a Dreadnought or a (Baal) Predator.

But if you prefer a Chaplain/DC/Razorback that is fine too of course.

I have to say I don't like any of it. 5 Assault marines won't hit that hard. Tac squads have no place in any BA list that actually wants to win any games, whilst the landspeeders offer no duel threat and are easy to deal with. Whilst sniper scouts without camocloaks are entirely pointless.

Given your notes on your local group I'd suggestt just getting as many assault marine bodies as you can for the points. Perhaps keeping the sniper scouts for objective camping, but dump the heavy bolter and get camocloaks that way they can actually do their job well.

Take the Magic: The Gathering 'What Color Are You?' Quiz.

Yes my Colour is Black but not for the reasons stated mainly just because it's slimming... http://imperiusdominatus.blogspot.com

The biggest strength of the Blood Angels is their ability to take Assult Squads as troops, and this is a strength that you really need to play at.

What I'd do.

I'd turn the Tactical Sqaud into an assult squad. To make up the point difference remove their Jump Packs to reduce the point cost on the Rhino. Give the Sergant a Power fist and let the Squad take two Flamers.

The problem with Captians is that they don't provide any benefit other then filling a HQ slot. Your better off takeing something that helps you, a Chaplin ot Librarian for example.

I would consolidate both of your additional troop choices into another 10 man Assult Squad. A 5 man assult squad is very easy to break. It becomes a much more capable unit at full strength.

Land Speeders with a Heavy Flamer and Multi-Melta are an amazing unit, I would consider makeing both of them Identical.

If you can manage it points wise I would try and add in some Priests, Feal No Pain is an amazing advantage to have. If you cant fit the points in at 750 points I would definatly try it as you move up to 100 points and higher.
