Hey guys. I have been playing this free-to-play browser game called Dark Expanse for the last week. It all started when I saw a stack of cards at my FLGS that were advertising the public beta for the game. So far, it seems to be a lot like Sins of a Solar Empire, although the game will be much more slow-burn. After a week of play, I am finally about to the stage where I'm able to colonize another planet!

There seems to be a lot of depth to this game, with a bunch of stars out there and the ability to form guilds (called "Federations" in the game). I am thinking about maybe starting the Dakka Federation or some such . Anyway, take a look and see what you think:

Hey guys! It has been a few months, but I just wanted to drop a quick update about this game.

The server actually crashed, and the hosting company was unable to recover the data :(. However, the developers have moved on to a new hosting company, and the game is back and better than ever! A couple of new features have been added, including the ability to do Covert Operations on opponents; these can range from terrorist attacks to simple spy missions. Also, the guild function in the game, which are called Federations, has been getting a lot of new features.

So, I am still having a blast with this game! If you are interested in a little side-game that you can check a few times a day, this one is definitely for you. Here is the link again:
