Man, you guys are really flattering me

No worries, more INQ28 stuff is on the way, here on Dakka and on my blog. Just have to get a couple of posts out of the way first, but then...yes, then...

Peter, once again: Looking very much forward to more progress on Inquisitor Benadice!

Looking very nice, Peter! You did a great job in combining pieces from different models into something that looks like it was meant to belong together in the first place! Extra kudos for building a female Inquisitor (Inquisitrix?!) - I think that's quite a bit harder to pull of than the male version!

I am pretty jealous, you know

Before the discussion of boobs picks up again, let me just chime in and say that the model looks absolutely stunning! Great job!

Alright people, go on with the breasts

Baiyuan is right: You could simply cut off one of the little round parts from the side of a CSM backpack and cut off the vent from there. Also, one of the old CSM backpacks that were used during the 90s has a nice vent straight in its center. That may be worth looking at too.

Germany

Hmm, I guess the only way to find out then is to put different bits on the model and see which you like best. Maybe sleep on it, then decide

Btw, here's the old CSM backpack vent I was talking about. It's on the bottom right one:

Like I previously said, that's one fantastic model!

One thing I only noticed now: The bones adorning her skirt may be fairly standard for a Vampire, but they istantly add a bit of sinister mystique to the Inquisitrix: One cannot help but speculate where and how she got these...

PDH, drink less port and work on her some more. You owe us that much after teasing us with the pictures

Touché mate!

Although, with Baiyuan's thread, I have really almost given up...wait for it...HOPE

Hey Peter,

first of all, let me say that the finished model is well worth the wait! She's fantastic, hands down! I'm quite envious My only nitpick would be that the fuel line might take away too much attention from those beautiful bones adorning her skirt, but I imagine that this issue may be easily resolved with the right paintjob.

Concerning the "missing" bit on her leg, I guess it comes down to what kind of look you want to achieve: Do you want something that flows with the lines of the sulpt, or would you prefer something bulkier that causes some small amount of visual irritation?

in any case, my first thought was that the Flagellant kit is full of great bitz, like the little hourglass, the scrolls and skulls, the symbol of the two-tailed comet etc. Maybe one of those bitz would do the job?
Or another suggestion (that you'll maybe find a little weird): The Bretonnian Men at Arms kit has this tiny little "treasure chest" (for lack of a better word). It's really small, just small enough to fit on a character's hip. Maybe you should have a look at it, it would add another little narrative hook: What does she keep in there? A prized possession? The fingerbones of a dead martyr? A heretical artifact that no one is supposed to see?

Hope this helps!

You know, that's just the thing that makes it cool! You can't help but wonder what he looks like under those robes. Brrr...

Actually, I bought that Dirz musician at one point in order to convert it into an Inquisitor warband member. The sulpt is really nice, but he is extremely tall compared to standard 40k models. And those drums should be quite a hassle to get rid of. In the end, I passed him off to my cousin to be converted into a Dark Eldar Haemonculus...

Peter, that Cairn Wraith is a fantastic base for an Inquisitor model! Very thrilled to see what you'll be doing with it. The bar's quite high on this one though, even John Blanche took a shot at converting it

@PDH: Yeah, Rise's savant is really something else. His Inquisitor is coming along rather nicely too, though! And we don't even need to talk about JB's models. Those are in a class all of their own.

Don't sell yourself short, though: Looking at your deposed planetary Governor or Inquisitrix Benadice, it is quite obvious that you can roll with the best of them!

Those were converted and painted by John motherfethin' Blanche. Look at how awesome they are and despair, mortal!

dsteingass, is that a serious question or is you trollin'? I can never tell

Just in case: It's a Dirz musician, an old Confrontation mini. You do have a point, though. It kinda looks like a Delaque!

Wow! Just...wow!

GW should cast and sell this. It blows every one of their Inquisitrix models straight out of the water. Fantastic work, PDH!

Also, I am SO jealous right now

PDH wrote:Glad you're jealous....but I'll be borrowing a few of your ideas when it comes to making my acro-flagellant.

But of course! Borrow right away, good sir! Although I'll probably have to throw away my own arco-flagellants away afterwards, because yours will end up looking much better

Rocking some mad rhymez there, Peter

Just checked out the group shot over at INQ28. Inquisitrix Benadice's retinue is absolutely fantastic

Have a great Inqvitational, mate

Haha, Starfarer beat me to it, but still: Congratulations for having the model featured in WD. In my opinion, it was really the best of the bunch too!

Oh, don't get me wrong: JRN's piece was fantastic (as per usual), but I just felt like you actually did the most with the model, while all the others kept fairly close to the original, diseased look. Anyway, one of the best articles in the issue. Why can't they do stuff like that more often?

He's looking fantastic, PDH! Wouldn't even have needed the changed lapels, in my opinion, but kudos for going the extra mile!

Concerning the commissars, I've wondered whetherr it wouldn't be relatively easy to cut the tank one to shape, so that you could at least use the upper body for an interesting conversion? Recently got the third one from the set (the one drawing his sabre) in a bitz swap and have been thinking about what to transform him into ever since. Hmm...

Anyway, really looking forward to seeing Falstaff painted, mate!

Well, seeing how that was my plan anyway, it looks like you have yourself a deal, mate!

Loving the new traitor, btw!

Fantastic work, Peter, as usual! I especially like how the paintjob manages to blend in the new lapels and makes them look like they had been like that from the beginning!

Oh, on a mostly unrelated note, I would still love to hear your feedback on the beer cask I added to my Drill Abbot, btw

You know what: I also prefer the first pose, although I couldn't even tell you why. Maybe it's because it makes him look more like a swordsman, while the new pose seems to emphasise the gunfighter angle?

The Inquisitor's looking brilliant, mate! For some reason, the boots make him look even more angry. Does that make sense?

On a separate note wont this be brilliant for an Inquisitor Conversion http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat440004a&prodId=prod2000079a. Replace the bow etc with a gun. Power Axe head on the spear. Little =][= instead of hearts. Needs a head swap which will need thinking about....

Funny you should say that: I think that model is the best thing to come out of that release, and quite promising for an INQ28 conversion. Go for it. You know you want to

Just go ahead and marry the whole guy, megabambam: Peter seems nice enough

Seriously, though: Like I said elsewhere, great job, mate! Your ability to produce one kick-ass Inquisitor after the other never disappoints!

Fair enough, fair enough: I'd marry people for less than being able to come up with such fantastic gaming tables

That warrior priest is indeed fantastic! You know they have to be on to something when the corresponding 40k model looks pedestrian by comparison. I couldn't even tell you my favourite detail about the model: Is it the raven skull? The skull with melting candles on top on his shoulder? Or that brilliant facial expression?

Anyway, looking forward to seeing your paintjob, although seeing you paint a totally unconverted model will seem strange, somehow

Oh, on a totally unrelated note, I noticed your Inquisitor Haxtus next to Zuul on some of Marco's pictures -- does that mean the two are BFFs now?
