Yup. It plays like Warhammer Fantasy 5th edition I think without things like magic

Although it is recommended that you adjust point costs if cross booking armies

WAB2 is a bit more of its own rule set. Changes to ranks, flank arches, skirmishers - makes the game stand on its own.
