After picking up a stack of necrons at a bargain price on ebay -
(for those interested, £40.00 for:
1 monolith
44 warriors
1 lord with res orb
4 destroyers
5 scarab swarms)
I've been left wondering about a few of the rules. I don't suspect this will be the only post i make in this thread, but here are some of my starters for 10:
1)If I have a squad of necron warrriors who are all "downed", they are removed and I don't get "We'll be back!" do i?
2)If I use the monolith to "teleport" a necron warrior squad, can I do this before they make their "we'll be back!" rolls?
3) Can I move the monolith and fire the Gauss flux arc AND the particle cannon?
4) Does a downed necron lord count his own resurrection orb if his last wound is taken by a power weapon or equivalent?
5) As above, except do other necrons within 6 inches?
6) If one downed necron is within 6 inches of my lord, do all necrons in that squad benefit from the resurrection orb?
7) If I use the monolith to teleport a warrior squad that hasn't moved, can that squad then move 6 inches away (after disembarking 2)? Can the monolith subsequently move?
8) Can scarabs turbo boost?
9) Can I move and fire my destroyers/heavy destroyers heavy weapons? I know they are counted as jetbikes, but ive seen enough threads onhere to not take this for granted!!
That's all I can think of for now (emphasis - for now )
Many thanks!

1) No WBB UNLESS there is another like Necron unit within 6" of each model.
Remember whether you get WBB or not is based on distance to each MODEL, not unit. So one downed Necron warrior within 6" doesnt make all other downed warriors in the unit get a WBB, each one individually has to be within 6" of a standing model to get a WBB.
2) No, as WBB happens first thing in a turn - the teleport rules specifically staate you do this AFTER a unit makes WBB. Not sure how it makes a difference particularly...
3) NO, as the cannon is Ordnance and prohibits you from firing any other weapon. Remember you cannot use it when deepstriking either.
4) Yes
5) Yes, with the caveat that the Necrons have to be downed WHILE the lord is "alive" - any models killed by power weapons after the lord is dead do not get WBB (see FAQ)
6) No, the downed warrior is not a real warrior
7) Yes, if you notice the rules in the FAQ talk about treating it as a transport vehicle.
8) Yes
9) Yes, they are relentless

Since there is a difference of opinion in the answers so far,
#2, Nos is correct.
And regarding #7, yes, as long as neither has moved, and yes, the Monolith may move after porting them through.
And bear in mind that thanks to the stealth reprint of the Necron codex, a unit that has moved may not teleport through the matrix at all and the Monolith no longer counts as a stationary vehicle after moving.

1)If I have a squad of necron warrriors who are all "downed", they are removed and I don't get "We'll be back!" do i?
They do if and only if at the time that they went down there is another Necron model of the same type within 6 inches. This most commonly happens when you gunline one squad directly behind the other.
2)If I use the monolith to "teleport" a necron warrior squad, can I do this before they make their "we'll be back!" rolls?
No, WBB happens at the start of the turn. The models that are part of the squad when you teleport them may take a second WBB roll after teleportation, which can happen after you move the monolith.
3) Can I move the monolith and fire the Gauss flux arc AND the particle cannon?
Particle whip is an ordinance weapon, so you can only fire defensive weapons in addition to it, and gauss flux arc is NOT S4 or less, so doesn't count.
There is a huge unsettleable argument about being able to deep strike the monolith and use the particle whip. Speak to your local players for a ruling, dakka does not come to a consensus after several attempts that I have seen. Other than that, there is the ability to move 6" as normal and either fire the particle whip or the guass flux arc, either or, not both.
4) Does a downed necron lord count his own resurrection orb if his last wound is taken by a power weapon or equivalent?
Yes
5) As above, except do other necrons within 6 inches?
If it is at the same initiative( CC) or shooting from the same squad yes, as it happens simultaneously. However, once the Lord is down, his res orb is out of effect.
6) If one downed necron is within 6 inches of my lord, do all necrons in that squad benefit from the resurrection orb?
The individual models must be within 6 inches of the Lord and his res orb to take the effects, not one member of the squad
7) If I use the monolith to teleport a warrior squad that hasn't moved, can that squad then move 6 inches away (after disembarking 2)? Can the monolith subsequently move?
If the monolith has not moved, then yes it is as if disembarking a transport that has not moved. Both my move and shoot normally. If the monolith has moved, the troop only gets to deploy 2" and cannot assualt.
8) Can scarabs turbo boost?
YES, to the effect of a 2+ cover save
9) Can I move and fire my destroyers/heavy destroyers heavy weapons? I know they are counted as jetbikes, but ive seen enough threads onhere to not take this for granted!!
Yes, counts as jetbikes gives them relentless, so moving and shooting and assualting with the heavy weapons

Well like i said in my OP, I picked them up very cheap. Was on ebay and bought all of the above in one fell swoop - too good a deal not to go for lol.
Plus its a change from my BT, and my daemons are still on the painting table - I just fancied a bit of a change.
And surely the new codex can't be a million years away....

There is nothing that is nearly or remotely sure about a GW release schedule. NOS is correct as stated, I did not contradict anything he said, except the deep striking monolith and using the power matrix. Like I said there, it is highly debateable and should be something you cover with ur local gaming group dakka does not come to a consensus.

Actusally you contradicted me on the number of weapons that can be fired - the reason you cannot fire the Matrix with the Arcs is because the matrix is Ordnance; ordnance lets you fire NO other weapons, defensive or not.

Thanks for the very helpful info so far guys. Another few questions: 10) When rolling for the Gauss Flux Arc, do I roll D6 and take that many shots at every enemy unit in range? Or Do I roll a D6 for each enemy unit separately, and THEN fire? 11)Monolith's appear to ignore Shaken/Stunned results - is this correct? 12)AP1 Still works against a monolith? Also, with regards to teleporting a unit that has models down in it - this is from the FAQ Q. When do you remove Necrons that fail their WBB roll? A. Necrons who fail their WBB roll are removed unless you intend to use a Monolith portal to teleport the unit during the current move. So In theory, I have a squad of 10, 9 down, and use the Monolith to re-roll these 9 down? Thanks again! Automatically Appended Next Post: Also, I found this on the FAQ too: Q. When is the range of the resurrection orb checked? At the time the Necron becomes damaged or at the start of the turn when WBB is rolled for? A. Check range when a Necron becomes damaged. If at least one (undamaged) model in the unit is within 6" of a resurrection orb at that point, leave the damaged Necron on the board. Otherwise, immediately remove it from the table as a casualty. This to me seems that if I have a "healthy" necron within 6 of the orb, other necrons in that unit (who may be more than 6 away) can benefit - is this correct?

10. Fires D6 shots, then fires them at every unit so same amount at every unit.
11. Yeah
12. Yes
First Q not sure
Second Q yes, one undamaged model in the unit.

Wait how does the Monolith ignore shaken/stunned? Sure if you want to fire the Whip but otherwise the model is still stunned and can't move.

I have seen it argued that since the Monolith says it has no crew that, that is why shaken and stunned don't apply.
But the way I play it is that shaken and stunned damage results are ignored for using the Power Matrix, but only for that because it is specified under the Power Matrix section.
There is nothing in the Monolith rules that says the Monolith ignores all shaken and stunned results.
So if it is shaken, it can't fire the gauss flux arcs and if it is stunned, it can't move or fire the gauss flux arcs.
However, it can still use the Power Matrix in one of two possible ways (subject to applicable rules).

If people want to go by that logic, then one could simply counter with 'oh then it's operating system needs a reboot so it's still stunned'

That's why I play it that shaken/stunned results do apply, just are ignored by the Power Matrix (subject to other applicable rules).
