hey all, just got my eldar out of the box and decided i wanted a break from my space marine armies... so im gonna play harlies..

Farseer (Doom + Fortune + Spirit Stones + Runes of Warding) - 145pts
7 Harlies (Death Jester + Shadowseer + Troupe Master + 5 Kisses) - 206pts
5 Pathfinders - 120pts
5 Pathfinders - 120pts
Wraithlord (Lance + EML) - 155pts

746pts

is there a better setup or tweaks needed? illl most likely be fighting some marine based army as always but wondered at 750 if this would be a fun army to play, whilst giving me a chance to actually win games

750pts is a low limit for Eldar, try and convince people to play higher pt games

As for your list:
Farseer is a solid choice, but Fortune and the Spirit Stones could be dropped. There simply isn't many units that would gain much from re-rolling armor in your list. The WL is the most likely target, but guns hitting him will probably the standard anti-tank weapons (since you have no tanks), which ignore his armor anyway. And, the Farseer himself isn't really worth keeping the Fortune on.

Harlies can be a really good choice. Drop the Death Jester (he's the one with the Shrieker Cannon, right? If not, drop the one that has that). You'll be running or assaulting every turn with these guys, they can go an entire game without shooting once, and the Jester becomes more of a liability than an advantage.

Pathfinders are good. Be careful with them, though. You'll have to deploy them on objectives often times outside your deployment zone, and without transports in your army to bring in backup, they get assaulted pretty quickly and wiped out.

The Wraithlord is an interesting choice. He's your only ranged anti-vehicle in the army, so you need to use him for that as much as you can before he goes down. I like the weapon loadout on him, but remember without a sword he actually isn't very impressive in CC.

Overall, I think this list is kinda iffy. Tanks and Mech armies will chew you up pretty easily, but at 750pts, you may not see many of those armies. KP games are going to be your best bet, but I guess objective games to be almost unwinnable if your opponent can close distances quickly. You may want to try a Jetbike squad (or Dire Avengers in a WS) held back in reserves to quickly capture that critical objective turn 5.

Under your bed.

Fun hell yes. FTW not really.

Agree with Grakmar re the Death Jester and objectives - this list offers nothing that can challenge a point.
If your opponent has his wits together he'll be ignoring the approaching Harlies and hunting your Rangers with everything he's got. They're very cool but will be isolated and vulnerable.
GU bikes are sensational at objective play - especially from reserves - so trading out a unit of Pathfinders would strengthen the list imo.

I actually think Fortune will pay. Likewise the WL is a good bet if you can keep the Harlies close by to discourage any tarpitting shenanigans.

I believe the harlequins wounl love the fortune... taking it away from them would be bad...

Dropping one unit of PF for bikes would be good (as stated by others) but at 750 it hard to make a workable eldar list that would do well against most people. If your group is playing 750 try asking them to take 1 troop minimum as opposed to 2.

hey all thanks for the advice... but i was thinking as the harlies AND pathfinders both ignore terrain why not run them to an obj? or deploy obj the other side of my deployment zone? makes sense.... anyways i wanted more fun so i made this:

Maugan Ra - 195pts
9 Harlies (Troupe Master + Death Jester + Shadowseer + 7 Kisses) - 250pts
5 Pathfinders - 120pts
5 Pathfinders - 120pts
War Walker (2xScatter Laser + Spirit Stones) - 65pts

750pts

the war walker is out of place so i might replace it with a viper... but walker pumps out more shots and can speed bump stuff so - comments and critisms welcome !

I think the list needs some way to deal with Tanks. But I don't know how to add that without dropping the overall feel of the list.

i agree the list cant deal with big tanks like LR's etc (execpt for maugan ra if you have rigged dice for 6's) but i cna still open rhinos and most transports with S6 shots at which i put out 16 per turn... and if need be pathfinders with rending

only real way to deal with tanks is CC i think with mass rending

Well, I'd consider the following list:

Doomseer - 80
5 Pathfinders - 120
5 Pathfinders - 120
Wraithlord -120
Wraithlord - 120

This leaves you with enough points to add a Harlie troope.
