Hi guys,

I was looking over what models I need to get for a starter for BA army and one thing I noticed is that Sanguinary Priests (a must have) are metal models and I hate working with metal. I thought that maybe what I can do is convert one of my tactical squad members into a Sanguinary priest by painting it like one and maybe adding some bits but I'm not sure what bits out there could somplete the look. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make that conversion aside from just a different paint job?

Additionally from the perspective of Vanguard and Sternguard veterans if I just painted standard assault marines in the Vangaurd colors would that be enough or are there other conversion options to make that happen and the same for Sternguard. In other words are paint jobs enough or are there other options to make the stand-ins look more like what they are meant to?

Also when it comes to playing in non-competitive games are there issues with using these types of conversions as stand-ins?

Thanks!

I'll tell you a secret, something they don't teach you in your temples. The gods envy us. They envy us because we are mortal, because every moment may be our last. Everything is more beautiful because we are doomed. You will never be lovlier than you are now and we will never be here again.

paint jobs are absolutely enough.

Same for the priests. Counts as works just fine.

I plan on running some Iron Hands as Blood Angles.

I don't see issue with this in friendly or competative games.

The plastic command squad should have Apothecary bits = > sanguary priest.
Generally veterans tend to have more 'bling', personal heraldry, so why not mix (spare) parts of Sanguary guard/Deathcompany with basic plastic marines
to make your own vets?

IMO lots of chapter specific markings, scrolls, seals and a different paintjob are enough to identify vets.
The 2 BA boxes contain more parts than you need for 5 marines anyways.
