Terminator Armour was originally designed as a protective measure for people inside Plasma Fusion Cores. If this is so, then how do Termies die so easily to Plasma weapons, despite the fact that the armour is now obviously a better version and have protective shielding measures?

PS: Do not refer to Storm Shields in this.

Dreadnought Armour was designed to make sure someone could survive in a Plasma Fusion Core, yeah.

But that's not a direct, focused blast of plasma intended as a weapon of war.
It's like the difference between chainmail being able to stop a sword blow, but daggers could still slip through.

It does a lot to power armour, most notably burning through it and whatever is behind it.
TDA however i'm not to sure on so go figure.

"Normal" plasma blasts will score, even weaken Terminator Armor's ceramite plating.

But an "overcharged" blast from a Plasma Gun at short range? That'll burn right through.

It was designed for protection agaisnt a plasma core, not a plasma bolt. A direct bolt is too powerful for the terminator armour to resist whilst the core is not a direct blast, so yeah, thats why.

Like everyone else said. It's like modern body armor. It'll protect you against the shower of shrapnel, but it's not going to stop a high powered bullet. Termies could easily fight in the ambient heat of a plasma reactor...but even their awesomeness has limits, and a focused blast goes mostly through. Even then, they have a 5++ to save them.
