I have only ever used White Knight Squirts Flat Black (well that is kind of a lie, I did use one can of Chaos Black but I was naive). It gives a finish very similar to Chaos black and is infinitely cheaper plus more available.

I have never had issues with drying time as I do normally leave the models outside for a significant part of the day.
