I think those look absolutely great! Considering that gold and metal are quite hard to paint, and so is yellow, these turned out really well.
I do feel those pictures don't do these awesome models justice, so I leave it to my imagination and your reputation to decide how great those would look in real life.
Keep the great models coming, I'd like to see more Iron Warriors - together, they'd make a great looking army.

A black wash with brown over the top would make those Iron Warriors look amazing

I can see that you have put a lot of time and effort into those models. But there is room for improvement.
The yellow stripes should be thinner and OSL glow to the eyes would really make them rock. And you should try to make the weapons stand out more.

Awesome work! Nice caution stripes, but they would look even better with a wash of Devlan Mud.

Nice, but the Hazard Stripes look very bright and garish; a wash of Gryphonne Sepia would quickly solve this, toning it down nicely.

They are great looking. Only thing I'd suggest is a wash of either Devlan mud, Gryphonne sepia or Ogre wash over the yellow just to age it a bit.

Alright, gonna do a big ol' multiquote here!
mercer wrote:A black wash with brown over the top would make those Iron Warriors look amazing
I already do a Boltgun Metal > Black Wash > Boltgun drybrush; If I did any more washing they'd just come out too dull!
Valkyrie wrote:Awesome work! Nice caution stripes, but they would look even better with a wash of Devlan Mud.
The minis or the stripes? The stripes would just be brown at that point, and would look ugly. I don't think a brown wash would help the armor either, it would dull things down a lot.

I'm thinking of doing some Ogryn Flesh wash on the edges where the stripes meet the armor, but I don't want to screw up that yellow, since it's kind of a pain to get looking so strong. If I wanted the yellow to be dull I would have just left it Iyanden Darksun.
coolyo294 wrote:How do you paint the caution stripes?
Iyanden Darksun, then 3-4 coats of Sunburst Yellow. That and a steady hand - I wish I could do straighter lines. The bigger caution stripes are how I make up for that.
Sorry to come off as confrontational to anybody, I just don't want to dull down these guys. This is a scheme that can look really muddy really quick, and not in a good way.

Bigger stripes are better, IMO, for Iron Warriors. These guys are so iconic that you can err toward what will be mroe striking over what will be more "realistic."

I personally like the look of bigger stripes, but well done thinner stripes can really knock it out of the park. Some of the first GW minis I ever saw had really fine caution stripes on them and I've loved the black and yellow ever since.

What's important is that your stripes are immediately recognizable as stripes, rather than one heraldric stripe. Thinner ones look good on chainswords, no doubt. But these beefy ones look very nice on termie shoulders.
