Quick question to veteran tournament runners out there - As I'm getting materials secured for the Bugeater GT next summer I'm looking to have some unique objective markers with the tournament logo on them, but I'm looking for advice on where to acquire those. Do people get custom poker chips? I'll drop an old school 90s reference and ask if you're scrounging up POGs?

Thanks in advance!

Poker chips work well. AdeptiCon has been using them for a few years now. Relatively cheap and abstract enough to work for just about any event.

We have also done resin cast objective markers. While they are more work, these can be a really great addition/giveaway to your attendees.

Finally, you might look for a sponsor to donate (or cut you a deal) something that could be used as an objective marker.

Poker chips are good and affordable; we used Palm Imports out of Florida for the Open's markers.

We did laser cut objectives last year. There are many places you can get that done and can have your logo etched into acrylic and cut to match your logo profile. It worked well for us with a gear logo, but it would be easy to throw your logo on an acrylic disc for about 25 cents a piece. The same guy that did our trophies did our objectives and we couldn't be happier.

How much did the poker chips run for you guys that did them? Mike gave me one from the NOVA at Games Day and they turned out great.

Ours tend to be 4-5 40mm objectives and a single 60mm (primary) objective.
For my marines, I use ammo crates and CoD gubbins and the personal back banners meant for the sgt models (which have the chapter logo on them) - these are the 40mm ones.
The 60mm is a wounded marine (firing pistol) resting up against an ammo crate and fallen banner (chapter/company).

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

I like tokens on 40mm.

That way creative folks get to make something but the size is standard so people can't be beardy about it.

i just use normal bases with decals appropriate to the army for most. simple, dirt cheap. for my space hulk deathwing army, i use the objectives from that game mounted on bases.

Get those little green flags from GW.

They stand out on the battlefield and are easy to assemble and transport. I love them.
