Dragon USA (military model kit store) is having a sale on diorama kits, most of which can make great 40k terrain.

Generally 40k is 1/48 scale (but not really since GW skews proportions to make the figures look more dynamic) but for buidlings and even some vehicles 1/35 (a more common scale) work too. There are complete building sets and some accessories to spice up your creations.
So if you're tired of fighting over the same skull-encrusted ruins everyone else is fighting over take a look. You will probably have to add at least some skulls though, just to make them fit in.

Wonder how that pedestrian bridge would work with these road peices?

What harm can it do to find out? It's a question that left bruises down the centuries, even more than "It can't hurt if I only take one" and "It's all right if you only do it standing up." Terry Pratchett, Making Money
"Can a magician kill a man by magic?" Lord Wellington asked Strange. Strange frowned. He seemed to dislike the question. "I suppose a magician might," he admitted, "but a gentleman never could." Susanna Clarke Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell

Does anyone have any pictures of GW models next to 1/35 scale terrain pieces? It doesn't have to be these ones necessarily. Just something to give an idea of the scale comparison.

Those seem a lot like the good plastic kits sold by Pegasus. Very nice stuff.

I don't know if it's just blocked at my work, but are there pictures of the actual models? All I can find are the boxcover artwork pictures

1:35 is about Inquisitor scale or double 40k scale. In special cases it might work, but generally it looks stupid, e.g. hand railings above head level.

Yes, a friend pointed this out to me after I sent him the link. Pity, they would be fun. Anyone know of any similar stuff in 1:60 scale? That should work for 28-32mm stuff.

28mm is 1/56 scale.
As people have mentioned, GW models are badly distorted, and look completely different.
1/35 scale vehicles look fine because 40K is all about gargantuan tanks and stuff. The GW vehicles are too small, actually. There's no way 12 SMs would fit in a Rhino, for example.

If you go to the site there are some pictures of the kits themselves but usually they show the sprues.
I klnow 1/35 is big but it's usable, look at any of the terrain kits, the windows and doors are twice the size of a proper inscale building.
The railings would be the most trouble but even then they could be trimmed or left intact to look more like fences.
