Are you going for more of a WFB lite in space or LATD like zombie force?

I would mix the zombie kit and Cadians/crapachans. IG vehicles with zombie nose art my be particularly humorous.

You have the advantage in that a lot of this is plastic and particularly easy to transfrom. Plus former LATD players will welcome you as one of their own.

lol I was going for something like the cadain blood kind of zombies like cadian/catachan solders that have fell victim to nurgles rot.

but still be competitive with it.

so on my project agenda is finish paint my space pups.buy some dark eldar start up them and start up this army.FTW!

The Zombie Plague

As Abaddon’s forces prepared for the 13th Black Crusade, the Imperium’s outposts surrounding the Eye of Terror were struck by a wave of visions, signs and worse. The most gruesome of these portents was without a doubt the Zombie Plague. Believed to have been engineered by agents of the Dark Mechanicus, the virus proved extremely infectious. Those that died rose again to strike at the living with undead hands. Entire worlds were overrun as agents of Typhus of the Death Guard infiltrated and spread disease, the victims of which increases the deathtoll exponentially as the dead rose once more from the graves and battlefields.

Even those worlds well-entrenched and prepared soon discovered that the Zombie Plague could strike where ever the dead were left unattended for a short period. And even the most pious of followers of the Emperor’s faith were stuck down by it, as when demonstrated when the Governor Secundus of Cadia collapse and his stronghold had be declared Unclean and sealed forever. Though after the 13th Black Crusade the number of infections has subsided somewhat, the Ordo Sepulturum and the Thorian Inquisitor are still investigating the origins and a possible counter-virus to the plagu

Very good. Are you using IG as the main gaming list?

Also think about nurgle and nids as areas to find more bits. You can show the steady deterioration and demonization of the minis.

Here's some nice ideas to think about

*rough rider stand ins: zombie rough riders; scout biker zombies to the more cool harpies, or zombie riders on spawn

*Ogryns. Spawn, nurgle demons maybe with guns. Wights.

*sentinels: spawn with big guns, tiny demon engines: chassis of sentinels with a nurgle demon coming out of the top mayhaps or something like that.

*MBTs. Again possessed vehicles: tanks with tenatacles and “stuff” coming out of the open hatches. Alternatively tank chassis with demon top holding big gun (think soul grinder on treads instead of legs).

yes I will be using the main Imperial Guard list.I want to try to make it competitive and fluffy for a zombie hoard

I was thinking about this for the bases, they make a 28mm to
http://sciborminiatures.com/en_,shop.php?art=410#i/podstawki_round/big/shambles_40mm_round01.jp

For Rough Riders because I just love them:
Maybe making the zombies riding like rotting decaying horses

For various infantry bits I found a few promising conversion kits.Like this one which are cheap and could make the models look unique.

Some of the various vehicles in the guard like sentinels I figured I could put a zombie in the hull throw some spawn bitz and maybe sculpt up some nurglings here and there.to make it look like there is a nurgling infestation.I sort of want to make them look not like the traditional chimera something like this http://davetaylorminiatures.blogspot.com/search/label/Mechanicon dave taylor did something cool on his site

also I was thinking about buying 1 maybe 2 packs of these to represent civillian zombies in the horde...the problem is it would be hard to get it be WYSIWYG

also I found this its cheap and effective I could spice up my zombie horde.

Very cool.

If you are having penal troops these would be excellent penal troops, else just mix them in with your zombie regulars as "new dead recruits"

yeah, regular zombies would be EXCELLENTLY done with penal legionnaires ("omg, they're everywhere!"), but for your line troopers, I'd actually make the models predominantly catachan, with various bitz hacked off of other zombies and then re-attached.

I mean, they DO have to have BS3 lasguns, so they DO have to look at least somewhat lucid.

I wanna go back to New Jersey

For the Chimera/Corpse cart conversion, I'd recommend using the Corpse cart piece in the center of the vehicle facing where the chimera exit is without the lid of the vehicle on. To give more effect, add some skeletons on the corpse pile to make them look like they're coming to life and are ready to jump out of the vehicle. For the turret have a skeleton with a shield look like he's trying to aim with the bare multi-laser while resting it on the front armor side of the chimera's hull.

I can't wait to see this army enter WIP stage
