Hi! I'm playing a game soon with my friends and I need advice. It's a tournament style thing, Orks and Tyranids against Tau and Necrons. I'm going to use a Speed Freek type army;

Warboss
w/PK, Warbike

Big Mek
w/KFF

3x
Boyz x11
w/PK Nob and Trukk

12 Warbiker Nobz
w/PKs

10 Lootas
w/Battlewagon(Deff Rolla + Rokkit Launchas)



The Tau player will likely spam Fire Warriors with a bunch of Railguns and the Necron some Warriors, Destroyers, a Lord (possibly the Nightbringer) but instead of a Monolith he says he's using an Ork Stompa. I did try to protest but he's the host so what can you do?

Now, I'm thinking the Biker Nobz+WB smash the vechiles (Stompa or whatever the Tau are using) and the Mek+Lootas in the Battlewagon (if they're out of range) zip about midway up the field, and reinforce the 'nids, who will be tackling the Necrons. The Trukk Boyz will charge the Fire Warriors, probably two of them attacking while one ties up fire by attacking another vital unit. Anyway thats what I think, but I'd really like to wipe the smug smirk off my friends face, so I'd really appreciate any help or advice you can give me.

In any multi-player game that includes Necrons, you should be able to win rather easily. Just focus all your fire from both players on the weakest Necron squads. You should be able to force them to phase out rather quickly. Then, it's 2 vs 1 and you win!

Few things. You cant have 12 nob bikers in one mob. Are you taking 2-6 nob biker squads? The cap is 10 is why Im asking.

Also your taking PKs on ALL those bikers? Thats a HUGE waste of points. You need 6s to glance the lith, and this is 5th, trying to glance a lith is like watching paint dry. Drop the PKs on the nobs to no more then 3 in the mob. That will save you alot of points there. Also since your boss in on a bike, he will have a PK so that will be better then the nobs PK anyways.

The lootas in the BW is a smart move, but you shouldnt have any reason to move the BW since they can shoot 48 inches away, thats half the length of a standard table, and most missions run the sides, so you can tag the other side of the board. Dont move the BW or else the Lootas cannot shoot and then you wasted a turn.

Stick the Mek in one of those trukks and run all 3 tag team style. Stay close enough to give them all the KFF save. Those guys will murder the firewarriors like its nothing. Id still try and use cover as much as possible because FW can shoot down a trukk fairly easy.

If the Tau guy brings some XV88s, then Id be a bit worried about them and my vehicles because they chew up vehicles like its nothing. Good luck and give a battle rep if you can

Sorry, typo on the bikers! Meant to be one squad of 10. And no, they don't all have Power Klaws, I don't have my army list on hand but it's only one or two bikers with PK's. I was thinking of sticking the Mek with the Lootas but I suppose it does more good with the Boyz. Thanks for the advice!

Yea against Tau Id suggest putting the KFF in the trukks over the lootas. Simply because the vehicles are going to be priority because they are coming in fast. The only time Id put the Mek with lootas is with a SAG, because of the range and they work well together.
