Well Ive played a Elfzilla list before and its worked decently your list is a little confused though.

Personally Ive found BL, Sword to work well if you are advancing with the WL. EML would also work this lets you open up tanks from range to keep them from just scooting away from you. I'd also like to see 3 wraithlords and the Avatar. The more MCs you have the better chances they will reach their targets intact.

The Dire Avengers are a weak link here as well as the weak scoring unit they will be eating a lot of fire .

It also looks like you are just cramming in as many aspect warriors as you can.

Fire Dragons and Howling Banshees need a transport. And with only 5 on foot you are practically handing your opponent a win in KP missions.

Warp spiders and Striking Scorpions work on foot but you need more bodies that is key.

A farseer to fortune the Avatar would be really nice as well.

Here is closer to what I would like to see in an Elfzilla list

HQ:
Avatar
Farseer- Fortune

Troops:
10 Wraithguard w/ Warlock, Spiritseer, Conceal
10 Dire Avengers w/ Exarch, Cats, Bladestorm
Wave serpent w/ BL, SS

Elites:
5 Fire Dragons
Wave serpent- Shuriken Cannons, SS

Heavy Support:
Wraith Lord-WS, EML, Flamers
Wraith Lord-WS, EML, Flamers
Wraith Lord-WS, EML, Flamers
1498pts

Idea here is nothing is on the table that can be reliability hurt by anti Infantry weaponry. This forces your opponent to rely solely on Anti tank

I see that you are right about the aspect warriors. I really like them so i thought i would try putting some in. I had them walking to take advatage of the avatars fearlessness

What is the Cats on the DAs and the WS on the Wraith lord.

Wouldnt Enhance be better than conceal?

Cats on the DA are double catapults

WS on the Lords are Wraith Swords

Generally no you don't want your WG in CC they die pitifully to Power fists the also die quickly to plasma or anything else that is AP3 or better and since they are moving forward they cant always be in cover. Conceal lets them take a 5+ save against plasma or other AP weaponry this really increases their survivability. Combined with fortune they get nasty. Just don't neglect your Avatar with fortune either.

Np just remember what works for some people doesnt work for others.

Your local gaming scene matters a lot.

I highly recommend proxying ANY army you are thinking about purchasing this will save you a ton of headaches later.

It also allows you to tweak an army to find just what kind of build works for you.

The suggested list is one that works for me but i encourage you to find out what works for you, it will save you a lot of money and time, and it will make 40k a much more enjoyable experience.

Under your bed.

I like alspal's list and every piece of advice he's given is sound - but you could consider not taking Wraithguard.
Two troops choices at 1500 is risky at the best of times let alone punching 400 points into a single unit that's not particularly reknowned for its scoring prowess.

It's scary and fluffy but I'd be looking at more Avengers (in another Serpent) and/or defender or jetbike Guardians instead.
You will probably still find plenty of points left over to include an aspect unit of your liking.

Ensures your opponent won't just ignore you to death.

Ignore all that. I know nothing.

I'm in agreement with Danu. The maxed out Wraithguard as troops looks good, but is just too expensive, especially at 1500pts.

For the Eldar list focusing on a slowly advancing Avatar and Wraithlords, you could even try running Guardian Defender squads. They're usually rather squishy, but being supported by 4 CC monsters and being given Fearless by the Avatar can make them really worthwhile.

You should also take something fast, maybe even a Vyper (that's right, I suggested a Vyper). It won't do much, but your opponents anti-tank weapons will all be busy dealing with the slowly advancing wall of death, so it should be able to survive pretty well. Then, you can zoom it over to contest an objective just before the game ends. This will probobly be critical to winning. Your scary stuff will be able to easily hold any objective you want, but capturing or contesting more than 2 will be really difficult for this list. And, it's nice to have a backup for when your WSs go down.

Edit: Oh, and if you're wanting to take this to tournaments, this approach won't stand a chance at winning. It should be fine in casual games and will definitely be fun, but a "competitive" list will win against this. So, if you're a WAAC gamer, don't try this list.

385 pts gives me 20 guardians with a shurikcannon and 10 guardians with jetbikes.

So I'd have to cut one of those guardians or take 3pts from something else.

I'd love to play some proxy games with this, but I don't know anyone who'd play with me.

Perhaps try playing on VASSAL. I recommend Avatar, 3x EML/BL Wraithlords, with a Fortuneseer, and guardians with weapon platforms.

Scorpions, FDs, and DAs, Wraithguard, should all be sidelined at this point cost IMO. The only one I'd consider taking is Scorpions just for outflank.

Warp Spiders aren't bad at 1500 for this list, but I'd probably make sure you have points for at least 3x Guardian squads with Scatters, and run one with Conceal and make it larger for some cover saves on front line.

Agreed with Zain60- especially the bit about leaving out other units that need heavy points investment per model. If you're just playing friendlies, a thematic Iyanden force with 10x Wraithguard can be fun. But when you want to actually have a hope in heck, leave 'em in the case. I've got 20 waiting for a codex update and mostly gathering dust...

Your backbone with Eldar MC is always 3x Wraithlords with EML/BL, an Avatar, and a Fortune seer. At 1500 this can be just a seer, at 1850 it's good to try to squeeze in Eldrad. Not only is he a better buy for the powers, but the redeployment really helps a slow infantry army.

An Elfzilla list also needs to invest in good anti-infantry firepower and tarpitting. As mentioned by others above, Guardians are good for that. You can't rely upon the Avatar sticking around to make them Fearless even by the time CC happens, but supporting them with Wraithlords will make CC much more inviting. For weaponry on the Guardians, scatterlasers are almost always your best bet.

Warp Spiders are actually good here for their speed, for their good anti-infantry shooting, and for the further saturation of the 3+ armor save band. Make your opponent make hard decisions when choosing where to put their AP3 or better weaponry, and it may keep your Wraithlords alive. Spiders will be a nuisance force, so don't sweat it if they die while drawing enemy fire. And skip the exarch and bling- more bodies and basic 2x S6 shots is what you need, not Withdraw etc.

Good luck- it's not an easy list to play, but it's a very nice change of pace from the Mechdar most Eldar players get stuck playing these days (again if they want to actually, you know, win something).

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

I'm going to throw my hat in with the take guardians squad. I ran a list like this all the time back in 3rd edition, with 3 wraithlords and the avatar. I used BLs back then, but then times have changed... Anyways, the guardians give your list some survivability. Don't expect more than 1 to 1.3 of your wraithlords to make it into combat on a good day. Especially against an Imperial gun line list maxed out with battlecannons and lascannons, you're going to lose at least 1 wraithlord a turn.

But good luck. Armies with a little personality are always more fun to play.
