A friend and I are going to be playing together, my DA and his BA, and I'm looking for a list to compliment his. Both lists are below

Dark Angels
HQ
Captain with power sword

Elite
Dread with assault cannon and SB (x2)

Troops
10 man Tactical Squad with meltas, both in a Rhino, (x2)

Heavy
2 dakka preds, one with SB

Honor Guard

Thoughts? I'm none too good at list writing so any help would be appreciated.

when you say compliment do you mean you want a fair fight? or do you want something that can beat him?

cos at the moment he looks like he has the better list.

I think he means that it's a 2v2 game/tournament.
As such he probably wants us to comment on how these lists would work togehter and maybe comment on some changes that might be needed.
Just some comments on both of you lists:
BA:
Do the sang priest, the honour guards and the libby have jump packs?
Unless they already have it I really think that you should add them.
Another thing that you could do is give the hounor guards a rhino (or the mentioned jump packs) so that they can keep up with the DA and give them FnP. (If you play it that way)

DA:
I think his list lack anti tank, or rather, long range anti-tank.
DA have a much cheaper TL lascannon turret on the preds, you might want to take a look at that.
Da dreads also got the very cheap heavy flamer upgrade. Storm Bolters are frankly to that hot.

Lastly, he might want to change the captain in to a chaplain (the +1 version), same stats, same equipment, costs 5p more but make a unit fearless aswell as letting them re-roll hits.

Just my thoughts though.

Yea, 2 on 2 game. The main issue we were having is the lack of anti-horde with the BA. Argh, I'm slowed half the time, I meant to put the jump packs in for the priest, honor guard, and libby.

I could drop the Storm Bolter on the Pred and swap out for a chaplain, certaintly.

Putting the TLLC on the Preds puts me 60 points over, any suggestions on what to drop?

I tend to agree with Oscarius, I may even think about switching one pred for a Vindicator, all it would take is one good shot and most of his power on the table would be gone.

This is true against BA, though I won't be facing him, itll be him and I as allies against two other people's 1k pts list.

Vindicators are nev era bad idea no matter what your against. although i tend to like a devestator squad with missile launchers. can provide both anti horde, and killy killy big things 90pt squad. upgrade 4 with missile launchers for 80 pts (20 pts each)

Works quite well aslong as they are covered.

Definately go for the chappy and invest in cheap LC and dreads. Or get some Deathwing.

Deathwing are over priced for what they are at the moment and dont get anything that gives them the advantage. they are terribly undervalued at the moment and dont work very well.

Ravenwing is the way to go with dreads and sammael

Would Ravenwing be better for anti-infantry duties than the rebuilt list? I like the idea of bikes and speeders. I've seen how well ML devs can do, will definitely consider it. Will be reworking the list shortly.
