This is a Dark Sword assassin miniature that I recently painted for a client. The general color scheme was not my choice, but I think it turned out rather well. So here she is, all manner of commentary are welcome.

I put her up on CMON if anyone cares to vote.

She is beautiful man... really an excellent job. I guess my only criticism might be that her skin is just a tad too pink, but I know I'd be MORE than happy with that result.

Very nice, the cloak is excellent and the clothes and mettalics are all top-notch. However I'm not that fond of the skin tone, it looks like it could do with some extreme highlights and shading, the hair also would look better in my opinion, with a more vibrant red or again with more extreme highs and lows. At the moment the mini is nice but for me lacks a focal point to draw in the eye as all the tones used are cool ones, it could do with a 'hot' tone to draw the eye. Very nice though, just the colours which I don't think work, your standard of painting is excellent.

Nah, she’s just a bit chilly on account of her skimpy outfit

OP, looks good... if only I had been born with talent instead of looks

You don't need talent. I wasn't born with any talent. I just worked at it for a long time.

There is a secret to learning to paint amazingly. When you want to improve, try out a technique that intimidates you. That's how I learned everything from simple highlighting to jewel effects on complex objects.

For example, if you think it would be really tough to paint white, then next time you decide to paint a new force, make sure to include some strong whites in the scheme. Or if you don't think you're good enough to do OSL or NMM, then the best thing to do is to try it out. Go ahead and find a tutorial on it (there are so many good ones online) and try to really learn the technique.

When you're learning a technique on a mini, it is always a bit of a pain. The mini takes way longer than it would otherwise, but in the end, you'll have increased your skill level on all your future painting.
