I am going to be taking Eldar as my force for a campaign we are doing at my FLGS, 1500pts. I think it is going to be human vs xenos so I can expect a lot of anti-marine and/or anti-guard (probably more Marines).

Stuff I have:

HQ:
Farseer with singing spear (can use as Eldrad, I don't think anyone I play with would mind)
Kharandras (might not be the most competitive HQ option, but I'd like to use him if possible)

Troops:
Dire Avengers (10) with Exarch equipped with shimmershield
Rangers (5) usually take as pathfinders
Guardians (14) kitted for normal guardians, the support weapon can be whatever (magnetized), I also have a warlock I tend to run with them for Embolden

Elites:
Fire Dragons (10) with Exarch with normal fusion pistol and one with a firepike as well
Striking Scorpions (10) with two exarch options: Scorp Claw or Biting Blade (would obviously run with Kharandras if he comes along)

Fast Attack:
Warp Spiders (10) with exarch with spinneret rifle +/-powerblades

Transport:
Wave Serpent with shuriken cannon replaced twinlinked shuriken catapult, as well as whatever the "main"weapon is (magnetized, can take whatever)
Wave serpent with twinlinked shuriken catapult, with hard-fixed brightlance as main gun

Heavy Support:
Fire Prisms (2) with twinlinked shuriken catapults
Wraithlord with one flamer, one shuriken catapult, a wraithsword, and whatever extra weapon option I want to take (magnetized)

So, given all of this, what sort of 1500 pt list do you think might work? I don't expect a specific list down to the exact point, but of what I've got, what do you think would be "good" options to consider vs stuff to leave at home? Here is one I threw together. Let me know what you would edit/add/change.

HQ: Karandras

HQ: Farseer Doom ; Fortune ; Fleet; Ghosthelm; Rune Armour; Runes of Warding; Spirit Stones; Shuriken Pistol; Singing Spear

Troops: Dire Avengers
9 Dire Avengers
1 Dire Avenger Exarch (Fleet; Power Weapon; Shimmershield)
1 Wave Serpent; Energy Field; Spirit Stones; TL Shuriken Catapults; TL Bright Lances)

Troops: Pathfinders
5 Pathfinders

Troops: Guardians
10 Guardians
1 Spiritseer Psyker; Embolden ; Fleet; Spiritseer Upgrade; Rune Armour; Shuriken Pistol; Witchblade (I know he doesn't need to be a spiritseer without any wraith units, but what else will I do with six points?
1 Weapon Platform (Scatter Laser)

Elite: Striking Scorpions
10 Striking Scorpions

Elite: Fire Dragons
9 Fire Dragons
1 Wave Serpent Energy Field; Spirit Stones; Shuriken Cannon; TL Missile Launchers

Heavy Support: Fire Prism
1 Fire Prism; Holo-Field; TL Shuriken Catapults; Prism Cannon

Total Roster Cost: 1500

Thoughts? I could cut down on the number of models in the scorpions and fire dragons to potentially add a wraithlord, another fire prism, or even some warp spiders potentially... Doing the math, if I go down to 8 DAs + exarch, 6 Scorps + Kharandras, and 5 Fire Dragons, that gives me enough points to field my Wraithlord with the wraithsword and BL Does this sound better? worse?

Thanks!

Just the farseer. As two HQs are too much for 1500, IMHO. Also, why list all of the stuff we know he comes with? Ghost Helms, etc?

Grorx wrote:10 Striking Scorpions
The power claw is worth adding.

Worse. Scorpions need the numbers. 5 FDs ought to be fine.

Karandras is not worth the points.
The enemy can avoid him. Otherwise, I'll be shot to death.

May I ask why your spirit seer is in a unit that probably won't be moving much while the one unit with wraith sight is equipped for close combat?

I've had pretty good results with Karandras actually. Just make sure to get him into the fray ASAP. Most of the time he's probably not near his points worth, but one game I had him and the scorps make a successful sweeping advance over three necron warrior squads =P I won obviously, but my opponent didn't do such a good job keeping those warriors away from him. Good times.

I actually had a game today where kharandras and some scorps with a biting blade exarch took out a deff dread, two killa kans, 3 warbikers, and 6 stormboys with zagstruk. Not bad, I'd say! Probably can't expect that every time, but still... did some damage!
