I forget the exact name, but the Blood Angels deep striking the Land Raider, specifically calls out that units may not assault from the land raider that turn.

The new Dark Eldar codex says you can upgrade your Raiders with some sort of retro jet, and units on board may not deep strike.

From the Dark Eldar codex, the Duke allows all the Raiders and Venoms the ability to deep strike. No where does it call out you may not assault out of the vehicle this turn, etc.

The way we have read it, since all the other rules regarding DS explicitly state that you may not assault out the turn you deep strike... and this one does not.

RAW we'll play it that you can until it's FAQ'd. Most likely an oversight, but possibly not and his fluff "he favors low orbit vertical assault" or something like that.

Reading the Deep Strike rules, it says UNITS that deep strike may not assault... however the UNIT is not deep striking, the vehicle is. Fine, the vehicle won't assault you.

It's in the deepstrike rules. Units that arrive by a deepstriking vehicle may only move to disembark, but cannot assault.

It's also a thread about 4 below this one!

I agree, they cannot *MOVE* in the movement phase other than to disembark.

However, in the ASSAULT phase I am asking about. Two completely different phases.

Just like an like hopping out of an opened ork trukk moving 12, disembark within 2, waggh for your fleet, then assault.

In theory the Dark Eldar arriving by deep strike (from the Duke's special rule) can DS in, disembark within 2" for the movement phase, fleet in the shooting phase, then assault in the assault phase.
