Alrighty, first list, it all works out to 1497, 3 scoring units.....I feel it could be better. The Deffkoptas are intended to shoot in, try and tie up things to give the Trukks more time to get all the Boyz and Nobz in. Tempted to cut out the Koptas to see if I could get a Big Mek, debating cutting down on Nobz to add a little more diversity, maybe a squad or two of Lootas, or hey, maybe another Battlewagon. I thank you for your time, and appreciate any efforts to help a new ork player get his together so he can get Waaagh! Agrinja off the ground. I'm aiming for around 1500 points to start with, seems a reasonable number to get pickup games before I collect more.

Thinking about it, I may want to ditch that second set of nobz, they seem like they'd be tough as hell but that's a lot of points.

At 1500, 20 nobz seems quite a lot of points. Id drop maybe half of them to up the boyz to 12 men and maybe fit in some more trukk mobs. 3 trukks at 1500 can get picked out by 3 riflemen dreads really fast

Definitely ditch the 2nd lot of nobz. I had a bash at working out their points, and I think its 430 yeah?

With them being in a Trukk, and no KFF in the army, your opponent is going to shoot them out first turn and they're going to be walking to the fight.

For more or less the same points you can get a KFF Mek in a battlewagon with the same upgrades as your other one + 15 lootas. You can deploy the lootas as 3x5 now as you've freed up the 3rd elites slot.

Maybe then get rid of the 3rd kopta to save another 45 and cheapen your nobz up a bit (obviously keep them diversified though), and sink that into some more boyz to go in your BW with the KFF. Alternately, you could trade out one of your Trukks+boyz and put them in the BW instead.

Just some thoughts!

Sounds good. How would you all feel about running 2 battlewagons, 3 trukks, battlewagon 1 with boss and nobz, battlewagon 2 full of boyz, 3 trukks of boyz, with lootas bought with points left over for some fire support?

Ditching the second nobz, bumping up the boyz by 1 to get full trukk squads, filling the second nobz trukk with boyz and losing 1 kopta leaves me at having 260 points left, with a margin of 4 points for sake of being under.

Thanks again!

Definitely figure out a way of getting a KFF Mek in there somewhere. It basically lets you shrug half the shots that get through the battlewagons (as well as a decent chance of fixing any imobilises) + some further saves on the lads once everything is out of their transports.

Lootas are seriously useful as well, definitely more so than the third trukk of boyz. Just deploy them in 5s or 1 big 15 rather than another configuration.

Lemme guess why as to 5 or 15......If it's 5, when they fail LD it's less points running away, if it's 15, they can take more causalities before needing an LD?

Basically yup! With a 3x5 you can take different targets if your first 5 nuke something easier than expected. Equally it forces your opponent to split their fire as well. You need 2 casualties taken to force an LD test. If they fail you'll then have 15-45 points running off the table.

If you go with a 10, its only 3 casualties to force an LD test and if they leg it that could potentially be 105 points moving off the table. Given they are long range troops, they are likely to be deployed in your backfield, so will likely feth right off the table if they fail the test.

Once you are up to 15, you need to take 4 deaths to force a test. Theyll likely be in 4+ cover as well if youve deployed them well, so that would need to be 8 wounds. Even then you are testing vs LD10 with mob rule, so you should be golden.

At lower points, go with 3x5 so you can split their fire a bit better imo. AS you've got the warboss, the nobz are counted in the troop slot so youve got the 3x elite slots in the force org to do it.

Sounds good! I'm going to play around with my list, and post the 'final' result when I get it done. Much thanks.
