I played a few games on Vassal with the drop list, and it turns out it works... okay 1 win, 1 draw, 1 loss. Problem is, it wasn't that fun. I'm not a big fan of Infantry based lists, I am more of the mech/high mobility kinda guy (mostly because mech both gives you mobility and speeds up deployment, it takes less time to set up seven tanks than it does 40 something models, 2 inches apart.) and once the drop pods are down you are basically reduced to foot slogging it to your intended destination.

So My question is this: which army book is better for making a mechanized marine (Rhinos, razorbacks and land raiders) Codex Space wolves (my personal top pick), Codex Space Marines, or codex blood angels....Hmmmm... I do Like Gatling guns....?

I'll also be using these to represent my own home brew chapter The Iron Dragons, who make use of both gatling and flame weapons (they're also big on the honor of their forge and shooting and CC) They are also close with the Ad-mech, at least more so than other chapter and often serve as escorts

I really couldn't say-bare in mind that all BA vehicles with the excepton of the Land raider (and variants) are fast though.

This is a good point, the razorbacks with assault cannons would be kick ass. I could also take blood talons as "dragons claws" or something. Be a nice modeling feat.

Edit: know what,... yeah Blood angels because blood talons are just so broken....

Blood angels get fast vehicles but they pay alot of points for them so unless your planning on using that mobility to its fullest extent I would run either SM or SW as their vehicles are much more reasonably priced and both can do all mech really well.

Diplomacy. With a bolter and chainsword.

Templars get the Machine spirit on all their vehicles as an upgrade. God send on vindicators.

Mechanized Crusade squads is the bread and butter of a templar army.

I probably should have mentioned I meant Projectiles not lasers and mid range. Basically they specialize in Gatling guns, Flamers and big freaking swords.


also aren't the blood angels vehicles the same price?
