I'm new to DakkaDakka, so go easy ^^. Anyway, I got a little look at the Dark Eldar codex this weekend and I made a small list based on the Hellion lord (basically allows Hellions to be taken as troops) and as many Hellions as possible (37 and 2 ravangers), I then asked about the pricing about the box sets, and basically it was too much for my little wallet (it was a guess at about £18 for 5, but thats just a guess).

I then happened upon a idea and to cut a long story short I wanted to try to make these guys http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VnTHypbLlkE (about 1:18) The hawkmen. (now before everyone says about swooping hawks, I just rarther the rules of the Hellions, sorry). I've sought of got the body, so to my question:

What do you suggest for the wings and the body? I don't mind if they are non GW as long as it can be quite cheap. Sorry

you could snatch the ones off of the Sanguinary Guard and attach them to warriors/etc I guess but that aint too cheap I suppose

The problem with using Hawkmen as Helions, is that's mostly what the Scourge are, which could be confusing.

Yep. Scourges are almost exactly hawk men. It's a very iffy counts as. It would be like using jump packers to represent bikes for Space Marines.
