In the SM codex there is a special rule allowing models in a Land Raider to assault when it moves. However in the BT codex there is no such rule, just a reference to an assault ramp. Do BT players not get to assault from a moving Land Raider? Or is this assault ramp something left over from a previous edition?

RAW you cannot assault out of a moving BT LR. However I have yet to see this denied to someone at any tournament, and in friendly games simply come to an agreement beforehand.

Yup, BT LR can't be assaulted from.

Sucks? Yes. Them's the rules however.

GW think that having a halfway decently put together ruleset is a stupid idea and that you should be able to work out things with your opponents like superbestfriends.

They are also staffed by toddlers and monkeys and their proofreader hasn't been out the toilet since 1987.

It wouldn't be so bad if they could just release decent Errata, not say their FAQs are meaningless and actually hired a proofreader who played the game. -shrug-

Actually, I'd like to see them take on a proof-reader that didn't play the game.

As it stands there's too much that's assumed. (like deployment)

The differences you have with other posters on these boards have generally been far more to do with application of the rules than understanding of them.

In this case, however, GW has actually "made a FAQ" about it; namely stating that if something doesn't appear to do anything due to out-versioned codex, then it doesn't so wait 3 years for a new codex.

Being an Astarte codex, it's probably not a long time until you get a new one, though.

Ah, but if you want to get into that discussion, the German BT FAQ has an errata that specifically states that it applies to both the German and English codices, which gives Templars Land Radiers the Assault Vehicle special rule.

However, it's not really worth arguing. The number of players that will actively try to deny you assaulting out of BT LR/LRCs is tiny. Hell, most players wouldn't even think to ask.

It's more of a dill weed detector then.
