Ok, folks I got a tough question for you,

In a recent game I was planning, We had a 5 unit assault, 1 squad Bloodletter and a skulltaker, the other players squad was a Close Combat Deff Dread, a Shoota boyz squad and a big mek, if the boyz broke that lucky number 10 and loss the assault , how would that effect the Deff Dread and the Big mek.

Deff dred doesnt care, Big Mek would test on Ld-(amount you lost combat by)

If the Big mek was joined to the boyz then they would make a single test.

Yep, that was going to be my first question - was the Mek actually attached to the Boyz Mob? If so, he'd count towards their 11 models for Fearless, and he and the Boyz would take a single Ld test.

The Dread is a vehicle, therefore does not have a Ld value.

SaintHazard and Nos have things spot on.

So if I am understanding this right, The boyz would run off and the dread would keep the Squad lock in Assault because it doesn't break, correct?

That's correct. Note that the dredd remaining in combat also stops the Boyz being subject to Sweeping Advance as they run away.

Correct. Vehicles, including walkers, have no Ld value whatsoever. They do not take Ld tests, unless there is a special rule or condition that forces them to do so (and if there is, it'll specify a stand-in Ld value).

Keep in mind however, that any results on the vehicle table (if there were any) from the Dred count as "wounds" in terms of the leadership modifier for the boys+Mek as well as any additional armor saves they would need if they were still fearless!
