I finally got a chance to square off against lutnit's guard with my orks. 1750pts with 3 objectives on a 6x4 2/3 of which was urban. We decided that the objectives could only be placed in no man's land. Lutnit was cool with me running some forgeworld stuff, specifically my mega dread and a mekboy junka. I stuggled to make 1750pts, still got some painting to do.

Lutnit won the roll and decided to go second. I was cool with that seeing as I have very little in the way or ranged firepower. I turboboosted my deffkoptas for their scout move. First turn was decent, I knocked out a hydra and shook the other with my 2 strong squadron of deffkoptas. The third lone deffkopta took the turret and shook a leman russ. Then it sorta went downhill from there. Some decent shooting from lutnit's ratlings took my warboss on bike down to 1 wound. Sentinels with autocannons eventually outflanked and shot my poor mega dread in the butt. Mortars took out 3 lootas and pinned the remaining 2. Harker and some demo vets outflanked in a chimera and faced off against two of my deffdreads, downing one with some lucky meltabomb hits. My burna boys managed to fry most of a squad of guardsmen. My big mek did very little. A deffdread managed to fry 6 ratlings but was subsequently toasted by a few meltaguns to the face. My skorcha wield ork go-cart got lit up by a leman russ and wrecked. My only mob of boys managed to get to one of the objectives only to have a valk outflank and kick their asses with missile pods. My battlewagon blew and left my nobz out in the open. They were shot up big time and reduced to a single nob who was later assaulted by lutnit's company command squad. The lone nob took down 4 guardsmen but eventually fell to the company commander. In the end lutnit had 2 of the 3 objectives.

Pretty much all the pictures were taken by dracheous.

We were joking about abusing the rule on page 3 of the rulebook where it says you have to glue your model to he base it came with. My friend was saying "yeah I bought a box at a garage sale and it had a leman russ and a valk flying base in it so it had to be done".

Sitting on the roof of my house with a shotgun, and a six pack of beers

That has to be one of the nicest looking battles i've ever seen.

Both sides brilliantly painted and even the terrain was well done.

Very well done those armies are breath taking. If you don't mind what kind of camera are you using? and did you use flash? I always seem to have trouble with my camera looking to get a new one.

I used my Canon 50D with my 18-85mm lens for most of the pictures; couple times broke out the 1.8 50mm. Crablez lent me one of his flash with a diffuser on it for the day; he's been trying to convince me to spend the money on one. And I will; when I has it to spend on it .

Actually between the three of us there; LUTNIT and Crabz playing; me watching this game. There was a lot of photographic gear on hand. Crabz uses Canon; but LUTNIT is a Nikon user. So there are often many DSLR camera's on hand at our games.

Don't fully recall either list. The before picture gives a good indication of what each army comprised.

The lighting is from the flash bouncing off the ceiling and back down. The point and shoots always have a forward facing flash which generall looks pretty harsh.
