So, veterans in the C:SM Command Squad can have melt a gun, a lightening claw and storm shield - has anybody worked out a way to model this without it looking silly!

Try mounting the plas gun to the backside of the storm shield, like the way the company champion has a bolt pistol added to his combat shield.
or mount it to the bottom of the lighting claw, that might work.

How about mounting the lightning claws onto the boss of the shield, leaving the other hand free to use the meltagun?

Every time I hear "in my opinion" or "just my opinion" makes me want to strangle a puppy. People use their opinions as a shield that other poeple can't critisize and that is bs.
If you can't defend or won't defend your opinion then that "opinion" is bs. Stop trying to tip-toe and defend what you believe in. |

What an incredibly silly Command Squad idea. I like it. Totally a huge points sink, but hilarious if it ever sees combat.
You DO realize you can't charge after firing that plasma gun, right? Which negates the point of the lightning claws...
Anyway, I'd say to have the plasma gun slung behind the Marine's back, with a right handed lightning claw and a left handed storm shield. Look at the new Space Marine game trailer; the one Marine has a bolter slung beneath his backpack, and I think that's a good place to start looking.

OP's talking about a meltagun.

Easy solution - put meltagun on their back with a green stuff strap over it linking over the front.

Thanks for the suggestions. Like the idea of shoulder slung melta gun. But, what I really want to do is think of a way to magnetize the models so I can swap things around. I have glued the right arm on with the melta gun. I figure that I will always want a special weapon command squad. I have magnetized the left arm so I can use a chainsword when I want the command squad reasonably cheap, but swap in the lightening claw when I want some CC ability. What I also want to be able to do is find a way of attaching the storm shiled by magnet, but only if I have the points and really want to trick the squad out. Now I appreciate that there are tactical and list issues about whether this is a good idea, but this is the modeling forum, not tactic or lists, so I really don't care about thoughts on whether it's a good idea or not, really how best to achieve it.
I've seen pictures of knights with shields slung on their backs - whatt about a magnet on the backpack?
