Hello Dakka,

today I want you all to show my new project: Nid Killas, Special Killer Team of the Earthangels !

They are a special team of assault/ closequarter fighting team. They have a special armor that shows parts of their archenemies the tyranids.
For this team i will mix SM parts, CSM parts and obvisously nid parts.
on ebay i stumbled over the torso of possessed CSM... for me they looked like bodyparts of nids...well the idea to create som specials was born.
as i´m far more interessted in CSM backpacks than normal SM ones the will get these too.

The plan is to give each Marine two CCW. Currently I´m working on two Marines at once. They will have each two CSM Chainsswords. Further MArines will get other CCWs like Powerclaws or Powerfists...

To add that special character feeling the two i´m working on currently will be added with spikes from the nid warrior sprue (?) as seen in the following pictures...

Further ones will be constructed along but slightly different to create a more out of the assembly-line look...

take a look Dakka and comment and criticize as you see fit^^

parts to be used:

assembled first ones:

thanks for stopping by...

concerning the CSM backpacks: their fluffwise origins might be true, it´s just that i think the look more cool than the normal ones. hence i use them on special characters and units like my libirian and my chaptermaster... for me the look like some version from pre hertic times...
well they will be going as assault troups on foot as for now. when i find something more useful i might change my mind. i have to read about vanguard ...(name is known but behind that name is only blankness^^...for now^^)

hope i will be priming them two in the evening then first paints will come in the night...

updates will follow sharply^^

cheers mates

well the chest is the trickiest part, cause it looks like that:

and for me it looks so mucho nid that i bought it specificaly to this use. but your idea for fist protection might be doable...

ohoh, hadn´t thought about visualizing the fixing part of the nid things... well that is a logic thing to do...good i´m so afraid of doing gs work. i think i wil totally suck in this...
besides i had some serious work done on those chaps...
will post later how things are with them killas^^

so hello dakka, it is about timne i´ve done some updates of this little side project.
up until now i´ve done basic basecoating to line them in to my greater colorscheme of the Earthangels. after that i washed the model in my old fashioned way with flesh wash.
then i did some detailwork for bascoating faces and done something colorful for hair. after that the nid parts got a coat of mecharite red.
besides that work i did an atemmt with eays dry clay to style the bases. tried to achieve a earthy deserty look...

here are some pics:

the whole projects birthing seems to be undergone a darks star, cause finding a place that might sell me the needed torsos in bulk is next to not doable. the most i´ve encountered so far were two torso for my nid killas... well here is the point where you dear dakkas come in to place. what can i do to fill the ranks and get more killas in the fold?
i´m open to suggestions.^^

cheers mates, vik

ohoh don´t get me started with other projects...

by the way...http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/324243.page

i got abour 10 scouts laying in a cubboard and about 30 termies to do...got when will i ever get to do that....

as for your pics...

YOU man are a true KILLA, man you killed me. i seriously lost a great amount of spit when i saw your pics. i laughed my a.s of...
great idea. that is quite a baptizim you´ve done there. consider those two from now on as DOLPH and SLY the hacking twins only their mother (which in fact the didn´t got (?) could distinguish...
at first i didn´t scroll to deep in ths thread so i thought you reffered to the ripped torso of them both as well of dolph and sly^^^.

only then when i scrolled further i loled so hard i got tears in my eyes^^. man great associationskill you´ve got there^^

and thank you for your help searchig the web for more parts... i searched about nearly ten bits shops but its the same way overall...
would you think it might be a shot worth to try to talk to gw directly? i think the concept is new so they might be interessted. although fluffwise true sm would never ever consider wearing nidparts to camo themselfs and try to get into the mind of the prey by dressing the part...

hope i get some answers this night, you really made me chukle and who doesn´t want some more of that^^

Dolp and sly, man you are a genius^^, vik

so here it´s to you neil, in tribute to your associationskills i was motivated enough to do some serious work on those two nid killas...

so i proudly present in honor of neil101, without his mindwork this wouldn´t be half as fun as it is now, the combatants of the Earthangels inner order fight contest...:

in the left corner weighing about 300 lbs, aged 235 years and with 543 confirmed kills and some crushed ones, here iiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeesssss:

the STAAAAlllliiiiiioooooonnn...

he is beside his killing abilities known for his knitting and waterballetsstyle (which he had to postpone due to his unddisclosed stay in a desert...).
he likes to read small paragraphs of incometax laws in his freetime and he likes particulrily eating anything that had a face...

and in the right corner, weighing 352 lbs, aged 198 years and with speculated 467 kills, 257 confirmed ones, i present to you the one and only (cause Gw refuses to built him in greater number) , the fair haired charm of the order:

LUUUUNNNdddGREENNNNNN!

questioned about this fine warrior his chaplain answered, he is a card, man, he never refuses to get a prank on some dude in our hood^^, he once did that funny thing with aflute with our former standard bearer, only two clicks before he was disembowled by a nid. funny chap. the bearer, whatwashisname?? loughed his ass litteraly off when our other chaps tore that bug to pieces...
shame not more wild cards are done the way nowadays .......
ähem....

well comments and.... well heck you no the drill well enough and who could stop you anyways^^, chees mates, vik

as the production goes your suggestion might be all i can do, as the needed possesed torsos are in terribly cheap supply, meaning i can´t get a hold of them...
i do have claws and i will definatly use them. and can you maybe explain further how the shoulderpads should look like. didn´t catch you due to speach impediment on my part^^
also i have some ogerparts like ccw fistscuffs that i wanted to use as sm parts^^ hope i can make it work...

thanks for your high praise^^ , cheers mates, vik

tommorow i will take a go on a third attempt of a nidkilla. he will look entirely diferent so all can happen. will take al advice in consideration. cross your fingers that i can come up with a good follow...
lighthearted fun? yeah as much as i like the grim dark thingy here there has to be something lighthearted once in a while.
personly i would have loved to do some angry marines but i started differently and having a go at two seperate sm armies at once them angry ones will probably wait a decade^^

as for all your high praise i´m not so sure it is rightful. sometimes i give really crappy paintjobs or search long enough to get easy sollutions^^ so i rely on my sons marines on heavy drybrushing and on my angels i use heavy washes. by doing this you can hide pretty much a lot of mistakes

@ neil, today i claimed finally some lego from my kids. the gave it to me more or less freely^^ and i scratchbuilt some jumppacks for the iron templars... i will show pics tomorrow^^

give my regards to your family and to all dakka thanks for your comments and support, vik

jep then that´s what i had understand zigo. nevertheless big thank you for the visualisation^^. before glueing i had this pose also...and yeah i should at least had one of them with a different pose for the spikes...the decissions we make...
but not all hope is foregone^^, cause i´m working atm on some new fellas to go along stallion and lundgren. the will hopfully beeing able to show to public in the evening (CET 20:00).
they will mark a more standard aproach of the nidkillas but also relying heavy on the rule of cool^^

and @ flachzange^^, of course there is another solution: since they are awesome Space marines the kick some serious but and sometimes even walls so doors aren´t an obstacle for long^^

cheers mates and cross fingers to that i don´t loose mine ba scratching around those minis^^, vik

hello again, thanks for tuning in,

today i want to show some little progress in building this special kill team.

a new recruitment could be optained.

behold the new man on the block:

his weapons consist of two ccw of the oger sprue i got from an auction of oger bits. got a whole lot of them still waiting to get some love and use to^^

i cut the former fist of the oger out, painful work and long time work... doies someone know a faster way?

this model also marks my first true attempt at battle damage. he got two bulletholes on one shoulderpad and some scratches of nidclaws on a weapon arm.
the plan is to give the weapons some glow effect. if someone knows how to pull that of he is inveited to suggest a methode^^

also i´m very open in name suggestions. as he is not armed with three claws i won´t name him wolverine, but if you got other striking names to offer i will gladly take them into consideration.

thanks again my dear followers of this blog and hope your there when next update comes...

cheers mates, vik

Galdiator? well that was a line of thought i hadn´t thought of but it makes sense.
as for the name spike. i guess the weapons do make it obvious to call him that, but i have to think of

whenever i hear that name^^

slaps head, reread your post, you didn´t use spike you gave the latin version so i think that Clavus is really a good name. so again i guess you won yourself a grim dark cookie^^

for naming again a new marine^^

thanks mate^^

ouch, you got that much wrinkles?
well then i suggest using butter, hot butter at that and letting in flow into the crevices and harden it out, so you get a nice and shiny face once more^^
