They can be bought regularly in all stores from next week on, but are a limited release.
And while we are at it (could't believe it at first):
Yes, they release an extra, mail order only 5 man sprue of the IoB Lothern seaguard troops!
(On preorder, release also 23rd October, 10 £, 16.50 $, 13 €):

As an alternative you can go to warstore.com and get 10 for $29. Not much cheaper, but $4 is still cheaper (note prices are USD).

Actually, they are only 7 troops and 3 command for 29.99 (closer to 30 than 29$!) to be fair (plus pending availability I guess), so they are 4.28 $ per troop compared to 3.30 at GW. And everyone has enough Lothern command.

Hmmm... do I buy the lothern sea guard or buy the IOB box set and sell off the components?
Currently IF I can sell evereything at a reasonable price after the first 2 I've already bought it is cheaper to do it by buying the IOB sets (6 more) as I want 50 of the lothern sea guard.

Holy smoke, did GW just make a logical business decision that pleases the fans? (excepting the over inflated price of £2.00 a miniature)

Nice to see a plastic Sea Guard release. But aren't those spears a bit warped? Surprised to see that in a fully painted miniature.

Actually, as Scryer told us, the painted miniatures are from the IoB box, not the sprue. So they might have taken a beating and also are notoriously hard to get off the sprue undamaged. The new ones have different parts of the miniature connected to the sprue. Scryer also thinks that this is an unplanned fix release answering these complaints about broken spears and that the sprue was originally intended for a starter painting box (well, it was not on the October release poster).

yeah i got 3 IoB elves set always there is a certain spear on the sprues that is always broken even in a new opened box quite sad.
though for 16.50 $ (+tax)for five its very expensive compare in getting 7 Regular LSG (w/ the most likely broken spear)+ its command and other IoB Elves set you could get it $35 - $40 per set.
even if you sell Swordmasters, Mage , Reaver ,and Griffin for like 20 -25 $ , you'll end up with more or less 2$ per model
