I'd honestly go with arm mounted guns. What you use is completely up to you, but titan close combat weapons seem like a waste. You want to be laying waste to an army from a distance. I personally like the Vulcan Megabolter/Plasma Blastgun combo.
edit - I just realized they were Warhound weapons. Still, I prefer ranged weapons. Titans will attract enough fire without walking into melee.

I'd heard that turbo-lasers (being Strength D, which is a huge difference over even S10 AP1 with no cover saves, especially against vehicles and super-heavies which I assume are a huge part of apoc games) are by far the best weapons, and that the optimum set-up rules wise is to have 2, and the smaller warhound version converted to go as a carapace weapon.
That said, go with what you think is cool, but powerfists are probably a bad idea. I assume meltaguns are quite good against superheavies, as against all vehicles, and don't assaults (ie chain or power fists) bypass all the fancy shields? Doesn't seem like a good idea to close in.

I used to own the forge world chaos reaver titan, sold it off (had bills to pay). be VERY careful when assembling the legs and feet, its going to take you days to get them posed right and have them be stable, the ankle armor is a pain in the matter as well.
That being said, its a beautiful model
As far as paint job goes, look up the titan legions, some when over to chaos and will have their colors listed. Take your time painting it. With how much it costs, Its worth it to take your time to get it right. Or find the best painter in your local group that wont run off with it and hire them to paint it.

Yeah do not think "omg, omg Reaver Titan must build it as quickly as possible!!". The most important rule of this is that you shouldn't rush this thing. The legs are the trickiest part, as you have to take care in getting the center of mass correct to stop the thing toppling over.
As for the weapons, the standard Gatling Blaster and Laser Blaster is a good combination, of if you want the best AT firepower avaliable, go for double Laser Blasters. I took this combo on my Imperial Reaver and it pulverises any vehicle in the way. Also, take the Daemonic Possession upgrade for 100 points, as it makes you immune to 1/3 of the entire damage table.

Sounds like Valk konws what he's talking about. If you want one of those sweet CCWs on your titan, take a short ranged gun with it. I don't know the exact rules for it, but I'd assume that melta cannon would be fairly close ranged. Don't mix long and short ranged guns. Also, despite how cool a double CCW titan would look, I believe forge world only makes one type, so your titan would look into of silly with two right hands Sadly, in general, the reaver is meant to be long ranged. The warhound is a better option for close ranged fire, but it can't take those cool looking chaos power fist thingies. Chaos ones look so much cooler than loyalist ones!

The forge world hand can be right or left, I even magnetized mine to be either.

Yeah, the TCCWs can be built as either left or right hands.
Also, check out my article on how to arm your Reaver

Hmmm...what arms to use...guess it depends on if you plan on using it in a game or just for display.
If your going to game with it...Id devise some way to remove the arms as needed, that way you can eventually get them all and use as needed.
For display...go with what you think looks cool. if I had the disposable cash Id probably pick up the Imperial Reaver w power fists/claws, simply because it looks cool.

If the people you game with are cool they might let you do that.
If not then make some way (pinning maybe) to be able to remove the arms. Have the claws for display and other weapons for gaming.
Still a long way off, but looks like I may be picking up an Imperial Reaver w fists and missile launcher sometime in February. Might add that new Necron model to the order as well...its only another $65 on top of a $900 order...
