Subject: Chaos Thunderhawk???

Is there any official fluff descriping the use of Chaos Thunderhawks? According to my knowledge the Thunderhawk was introduced in the late stages of the great crusade so the traitor legions should theoretically have access but I can't remember any mention of it.
If they don't have access to t-hawks, what to they use instead?
Any information regarding this would be appreciated.
Cheers

the traitors had thunderhawks as well as stormbirds, reference to this is made in either galaxy in flames or flight of the eisenstien in which Horus says that the new thunderhawks are inferior or some such thing after Iacton steals one

So they used to have them as I expected, but is there any recent fluff describing them still being used or how do chaos forces usually get on (and more importantly off) a planet?

In the Night Lord and Word Bearer series they are shown to be in the possession of traitor forces too.

Yes, but are they able to maintain the thunderhawks over the time?

Join the Imperial Guard. The pay's lousy, the battles fierce and you probably won't ever come back again. BUT you get a lasgun.

I couldn't see why not. After all, the Chaos Legions are in league with the Dark Mechanicus, who could feasibly understand how to maintain them. Certainly the Iron Hands have a good deal of Techmarine equivalents. Failing that, Daemonically possessed Thunderhawks aren't a wholly ridiculous idea.

in the book 'Demon World' by Ben Counter there is a warband of slaaneshi chaos space marines that employ thunderhawks, they're described a possessed things with bat wings covered in hair and scales, though they still retain there transport capacity and weapons mounts. so in answer to your question I figure that if a relatively minor warband has access to them, then the major legion most definitely do, though they are most likely possessed and thus able to operate for time indefinite as warped half living constructs.
