Got this press release from the folks at Bastion along with a couple of pics of the big demon thing (Emissarius) shown at Gencon:

Can you feel the ground shaking under your feet? The Emissarius is being summoned to join the battle!

Ex illis upcoming and highly anticipated release is right around the corner!

The Emissarius is a huge monster armed with a scythe as big and impressive as the beast. It can kill amazing amounts of foes in range, though its hits are quite inaccurate. Its arsenal does not stop there since the creature can also throw big stones picked on the ground, as movable artillery. And its cries are so terrifying that their effect is instantaneous on the whole battlefield.

Look for it at your local gaming store! We are setting him loose October 29th! Beware.

In the meantime, try Ex illis for free during 30 days! http://www.ex-illis.com

A price was released of essentially $50, but it looks to have been pushed back to Nov 5th:

Call the beast and start ravaging the battlefields!

You have eagerly waited for it and here it is! Ex illis is proud toannounce that the Emissarius is available for free tryout!

Ex illis players will have the privilege to add the Emissarius as atryout unit to their musters starting today.

See how you enjoy slaughtering your enemies with our demonic monsterbefore you pourchase it, and keep your earned experience as you decideto finally integrate it to your Ex illis collection.

The huge demon will be kept under a reasonably low price of $49.95 MSRP. Due to shipping delays the release date is postponed to November 5th.

Lucifer is also joining the ranks with this great update, so all ourlucky Bleeding Edge Knights will finally get the chance to bring to life their hard earned limited edition miniature on the battlefield!

The new software update, free as always, comes with many new improvements.

See for yourself: http://www.ex-illis.com

Huh, saw an image of this while in-concept.

If anything, its generated my interest in Ex-Illis... I don't like its base though...

Some people play to win, some people play for fun. Me? I play to kill toy soldiers.

We had a long thread on it this summer. It ain't great but it's big and plastic and has some cool design features, so I hope it does well and leads to more massive plastics.

Really wish it had a different face (or, y'know, had a face). Otherwise it's a nice model.

I know I know, that scythe weapon is a common farm tool. And Ultraforge was pandering to GW fans, to the point where they kinda disappeared. But I keep seeing the weapon that plague daemon used on this model

I think this model also needs some dirtying up. Blood and dirt

A table top game that requires me to sign up. Mechanics and details held by a computer - some what average looking miniatures? Registering units?

I don't think this is a good concept and doesn't interest me in the slightest. Nice artwork in pdf but other than that I give it a big thumbs down to getting me actually wanting to start and I am a sucker for new systems.

2014 will be the year of zero GW purchases. Kneadite instead of GS, no paints or models. 2014 will be the year I finally make the move to military models and away from miniature games.

I've got a couple of boxes of the generic Priest guys. I've converted them all to have Imperial icons and whatnot rather than crosses (so cut off all the crucifixes and replaced them with various banner tops from a dozen different Command, Tactical, Terminator and SM Commander boxes). They look really cool.

Really? The pictures make them look not so detailed. Take those vilians - very blocky and look lacking in detail. Care to put a pic of yours?

Yeah, that's my hang-up. It looks like it has a small, closed mouth, and a larger one with teeth under it. Kind of odd looking. A better picture of the face would be nice.

Is that a pile of its feces on the base? Awesome if so.

Yeah, the whole face/head thing is a big let down on an otherwise great model. Some converting to a larger more menacing head would make this thing rock.
