I am going to drop some bucks on an airbrush for painting models, can anyone point me in the direction of a good fourm post/article/blog that may help me make some informed choices?

Just do a search for airbrushes, there have been many good and recent posts written on the subject.

Whatever you do, make sure you buy an airbrush that you can easily buy replacement parts for and you can change needle sizes with!
My mistake was buying a starter airbrush with only one needle size, that's also not standard - 0.35!
