I play the Iron Hands SM chapter and there's very little fluff about them. I'm wondering if i should just make up a company and their fluff. Should I or not????

That's your own decision whether you should make a company...

Yea i look at Lexicanum they didn't have any. So i'll just make a fourth company since the Ultramarines 4th company was pretty good.

The Iron Hands are one on the most reclusive founding chapters, but the fluff that is theire lays out a clear structure to form a company

Last time I checked, Iron Hands were ruled by a council ( so No to chapter master ) and their companies were self-sufficent and based on the cities at medusa.
I don't remember any clan-company beeing 'the best', so feel free to choose one.

Yer each one is self sufficient in recruitment and supplies, the council is made up of the highest ranking members of each clan that is present at the time (this often means that a clan will be represented by venerable dreadnaughts if the majority of a clan is off world). Each fortress monestary is on tracks as well (which is cool).

no they just beleive its the best way to stop another horus heresy from occuring

this contradicts alll the (very little) fluff and most people i have talked to beleive ferran valor was the elected council member to direct all the clans efforts when they all came together to fight off the 13th black crusade, just like how when multiple space marine chapters unite they elect a supreme leader e.g. Dante during the second war of armageddon

They aren't... are they?

They are not fighting each other, its exactly the same as Roboute Guilliman thought it was better to split the legions into chapters, the iron hands split the chapter into clans. they are still one chapter and will fight to defend members of other clans

As far as I know, Iron Fathers have a lot of power within the chapter.

Yer its cos they are a blend of chaplain and tech marine, I would say that clan masters, iron fathers and venerable dreads have the most power within the council, there probably may be a few adaptus mechanicus representatives in there as well due to the very tight bond between the two.

There are ten Clan Companies which act in much the same way as the Battle Companies of traditional Codex Chapters, being versatile and capable in any given situation. However, where traditional Codex Chapters have a distinct separation between the various Companies that form it, such as the 10th Company being formed of Scouts, the Iron Hands Chapter is made up solely of its ten Clan Companies. These generally act as completely separate entities in their own right, and it is not unknown for minor skirmishes to break out between Clan Companies. This is encouraged, so as to keep the Space Marines strong and vigilant.
