Just been checked on eBay to see what the state of play the IoB rulebook was.
I assume prices will eventually fall, well, certainly hope so.

Buy it Now seems to range from £15-20, and the bidding reached £11 with a couple of days to go on an auction.

I was hoping that they would be a tad cheaper than that tbh
Maybe I am a tightasrse but with chrimbo approaching fast

Is this typical for a new starter rulebook release please?
Is it worth beeing patient?

Also thought there might be a few more on offer.

ps hope this is in the right place apologies if it should be in chat nad needs shifting.

Thanks Ritides
of course anyone with any sense might check there first.

I might play it canny though. If these prices hold I might consider getting a hardback version.
Or investing in a load of IoB sets and splitting them for sale
Could be on may way to my first million!

Not anything there or maybe my search mojo is wonky.
Ah well no hurry no worry

Thanks RiTides
missed that one.
Wrong side of the Atlantic :(

I expected a lot more IoB activity from what people were saying pre-release

There's been a lot, but I think people are still riding high on thinking they can get $35+ for a copy. I think I'll wait till they come down to around $20. I already have the baby killer version, only reason to get the small one is I hate transporting the large one to and from the game shop.

Have seen the small copy being offered on ebay for £25 Buy It Now!

Wonder if there has been an increase in younger FB players since the 8th Edition came out?
Small kids now have something to stand on so they can reach to the middle of the table

Made a gaff
It's 23 quid with postage. That's what he's asking.
Not necessarily what he'll get!
but there is one born every minute and all that!

3 auctioned on ebay that I was watching have gone for
£15.00
£15.39
£16.80
including postage, the latter being £1.99. the other two at £1.50

Am really wishing I could have invested in a few IoB sets.

Have not seen many coming up on Dakka so far.
Since subscribing to the sales forum have only seen a couple come up for grabs over in the USA.

Is it a case of people not buying as many sets as was indicated in the excitement of the release?
I got the impression that there would be plenty of spare copies knocking about.
Wishful thinking?

I posted a request for the paperback book on swap shop and got no response. Found a copy on eBay for $28 with dice, templates, and shipping and bought it.

I get the impression that there are plenty of copies about but they are selling pretty much as soon as they appear. I do have a copy of it that I managed to get for free as a prize for winning a speed painting contest at my local GW. After lugging the hardback around for a few weeks it took a while to get used to carrying a much lighter book.

Personally I'd wait for the prices to drop, but then again I was daft enough to pay £12 for the small 40k rule book recently.

No chance of getting one till after Christmas unless an absolute bargain crops up. Need yo be a good boy and get pressies first

I can quite understand why people are paying these sorts of prices but luckily it is not too inconvenient to do without for the time being.

Just wait 5-6 years until the next edition, then prices will go down considerably

Now there's a thought.
Not paricularly helpful, but it is a thought none the less

Am a patient chap, but that could be just a tad too long to have to wait.

Thing is that since the only other source to get the new rules is that 75 dollar monster people are either holding onto the IoB book or giving it to friends that play and couldn't buy the Big Book.

Here in the states in DD and BT they're going between 25 and 35, which is about the same price as on Ebay.

Give it a little time I think, it's real fresh still and people are kinda hoarding it.

Yeah
the expectation was that there would be people buying to split the boxes for sale of the various items.
The Buy-it-Now books on ebay are presumably under that category but just a tad too steep for me just now.
Probably over estimated the amount of people doing that out of hope for a bargain.

There is no hurry, but again 5 or 6 years like cheeky Kroot suggested is a touch too long!
