Hey all, is there anything that says you can't go to ground after turboboosting a bike, thus giving them a 2+ coversave? Can't think of anything that would say why not, unless its written in the rules for them.

Can bikes even go to ground at all?

A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men...

You can't make any voluntary action when you turboboost and they can't be pinned so going to ground never happens.

And it also says you can't go to ground in the turboboost rule

... plus, that would be silly.

Dudes charging forward at 120MPH and then instantly stopping and hiding. I'm pretty sure the change in intertia alone would cause their bodies to vaporise and for the end result to be a shower of gore and shrapnel where once there was a turboboosing bike.

I know common sense and 40k rules don't always agree on things, but I think I'd take some pretty serious issue if bikes could get a 2++ from going to ground after turboboosting.

That does sound like quite a few G's being placed on those poor bikers. But, it can't be any worse than a Land Raider being pushed out the back of a plane

As for the OP's 2nd question: "Can bikes even go to ground at all?" I believe they can, I don't know of any restrictions on it. Just not in a turn in which they turbo-boosted.

I've gone to ground right after boosting on a bike.

It involved an oil slick and I was not up to fighting after doing it.

I thought only Infantry had the option to go to ground?

By RAW if you move far enough while Turboboosting to get the cover save, you can no longer GtG and auto pass pin test. So NO, you can't GtG.

The rules for going to ground (BGB p.24) simply use the term "unit". So, I think everything has the option of going to ground. Although, I believe in the MC and Vehicle rules, they are both prohibited from going to ground.

Run is not restricted to infantry only either.
